Holiday "Mut-Seli" - Ingushetia

During its centuries-old history, the Ingush people created an original, vivid culture. A special place is occupied by holidays. As part of the spiritual heritage of the people, they accumulated the people's ideals of good, beauty, sublime, knowledge of nature and man. Ethical and aesthetic norms were expressed in them. According to the ancient celebrations of the Ingush, one can find that their ancestors had knowledge of the spring equinox, summer and winter solstice. Myat-Loam since ancient times was considered a sacred mountain. It was the day of the summer solstice. Every year on this day at Muat-Loam - Table Mountain, at an altitude of 3000 m above sea level, there was a holiday with dances and folk festivals.

   And in our time every year on the day of solstice the youth rises to the Table Mountain. The holiday is held with mass festivities, with treats, dances, folklore and ethnographic performances. A competition of dedication in jigits and hills is held, according to the results of the competition the best couple is selected, the winners are given prizes.
