The Joke is on You, Read This to Hear the Punchline

Who is This FOOL?

He certainly has a nice crown of leaves, what on earth has he won? Perhaps he has won that rather testicular 'bindle' hanging from his walking stick. Also, dual walking sticks? WTF? I am pretty sure quarter staffs are a two handed weapon. This guy must have some sweet perks to be wielding two of them (adding up to an entire half staff), perhaps it's a new ranger kit and the white dog is his animal companion.

He's a bit of a joke really, and it certainly helps to have a sense of humour. This is in a time and an age when so many of us are humorless. I mean sure we watch some funny series' on our laptop during the evening - but during the middle of the work day do we let rip an almight guffaw? When we look at the Steemit ecosystem and see whales abusing the shit out of it - do we see the humour in that? It's a sick joke but it is kind of funny 😁

It's almost as if we've become afraid to look like a fool. Fool medicine is good medicine for the modern human. Ever striving, ever serious, ever slaving when we really want to just live and laugh and love.

Fundamentally, it's a game - life is an adventure. It's a precipice ready to be walked off - tumbling deep into the unknown. Life involves risk and uncertainty, ever present when you're sitting in the living room - just as when you're on holiday in that highly affordable third world country.

And what does the dog mean?

Well he's a dog I guess, so it's something to do with our instinctual self - a basic level of common sense that even a dog would have. Being a white dog he's yet to be dirtied by a long life of muddy puddles, I'm sure it will look quite drastic when he lands in that first big mess.

Fresh! New! Young! Woohoo!

There's innocence here, a beautiful naivety just waiting to be crushed into depressing realism. All of these white flowers and white dogs, it's the same color as a brand new sheet of paper, or a blank whiteboard. It's the same color as the clouds that hold our dreams, and it's the same color as an old mans beard.

The young and the old have a similarity in their willingness to make a complete dick of themselves, one fresh from the void and the other knows he will soon return to it. It's this closeness to the void which allows us to say "fuck it!". With death looming over this sea of mortals, we may as well be who we really are - we may as well try and fail and do stupid things for the heck of it.

I'm sure all of you have a friend who is known as 'the crazy one', in fact if you're reading this you might even be that friend. God bless all of the 'crazy ones', people love how free you are - even if they protest. It's all an elaborate ruse, don't be FOOLED.

Zero! That's not even a Number!

Well no it's not, and I think that's pretty cool don't you? While all the other numbers were busy counting things and making equations, zero left the party to look at the stars simply because he felt that he didn't even exist.

Can you imagine how liberating it might be to not exist? What a contemplation. Is this whole life just an extended internal dialogue that we have become entirely convinced of?

I mean of course you exist, in an existential kind of way - there must be some kind of experiencer here to read this blog post, although maybe the character you think you are doesn't exist. What kind of place did you exist in before you came up with all of these characters to be? What was it like to be a child who didn't really care about all of this bullshit? You did it once, so do it again for old times sake.

The loving husband or wife, the reliable employee, the sad guy, the gossip girl, the flirty one, the lone wolf. Just a pile of words all of them, and then there's this fool wandering the country side marvelling at every blade of grass and small insect.

This truly is a miraculous world, it's just that the miracle is largely obscured by our own self seriousness. It's obscured by our self consciousness, and our belief in the various sock puppets that constitute our haphazardly crafted personalities.

Here's my wild suggestion, you are actually the vast an inexplicable act of consciousness itself. Miraculously percieving life, and bathed in the wild beauty of each and every moment.

Much Love to you my merry FOOLS, keep on not knowing, and keep on bestowing your innocent smile on unsuspecting bystanders. For Christ' sake it's not a murder scene, so shake off the dust of yesterday - and get involved 😂

I love this! I was just talking to some friends the other day about how the older I get the more afraid I am to look like a fool (to be rejected, to fail, to be judged, etc.). It's so obvious to me how fearless (and foolish... in the best way possible) we are as kids but get conditioned over time to hide, repress and protect this fleeting and changeable personality (the pile of words we take ourselves to be as you said). So we become afraid to be who we are. Even though I can see it though I still need some Coyote medicine to shake me up, to make me fall on my face, let loose and laugh at how serious I take myself and my beliefs sometimes. Do you think we all keep cyclying back to integrate the Fool archetype at various times in our lives? When we're ready to start another adventure maybe?

Thanks for connecting! 😄
Yes I very much agree with you, I also have a tendency toward seriousness. While this has definitely been helpful and given me strength, I continually have to come back to humor and deflating my ego. Acting the fool is a powerful means of reclaiming our spontaneous awesomeness! Yes it seems to have a lot to do with conditioning and being powerful enough to move beyond it.

Coyote medicine, that's a great way of putting it 😋 I had a lover once who opened me up to that world of animal medicine - and now I'm connecting with it every day 😄 grateful!

I guess it's like seasons, energy 'shifts', or astrology. With these tendencies coming and going. Right now I am feeling that I can be light and playful, and still solid in my lifestyle changes and spiritual path 🙆

In my righteousness I sometimes forget how life flows so good when we just let go and enjoy it 😋
Thanks again, I'm just connecting in to your latest post - juicy material!

Yes, to all of this. Since you mentioned astrology I'll just say I'm a Scorpio sun with Capricorn rising, so seriousness is pretty much my foundation! The only way for me to lighten up sometimes is for jokes to be played on me, thankfully life has an epic sense of humor. 😂

And this... "In my righteousness I sometimes forget how life flows so good when we just let go and enjoy it." I feel this so much!

I'm a Scorpio too 🐯

hahahahah, I sure am a fool & the crazy one. This gave me a good morning laugh :D Awesome post!
Aren't we all on the fools journey ? Embodying fully the archetype of the fool so we can evolve into other archetypes ?

You're the crazy one? haha

For sure, that is a powerful way to look at it. Starting with the fool, we journey through the Major Arcana and integrate each of the archetypes. A long time ago I went to a reader and she referred to the fool as like unmanifest consciousness, shiva basically. I feel like that is a pretty cool way to look at it, it's the undivided self before our journey of delusion 😁

love it !! yes it makes sense now that the fool would be wholly & complete. Unaware of it .. full of glee & bliss .. hahahahhahahah forever !!
