The steemit Beanie part 2,Opheliafu's flower

in steemit •  8 years ago  (edited)

I've been keeping notes on some of my favourite posts to make free form crochet pieces to add to my steemit beanie, my intention was to make a post once a week adding a few pieces to the hat a time but with crochet being such a time consuming process and so many projects on the go I've decided to post about each piece as I go along.

Opheliafu's flower

Today's addition is a tribute to the lovely @opheliafu and a thank you not only for including my recent post in her Join me at the beach post but the discussions we had here and in chat prompted some very positive discussions here which helped me make some crucial decisions on how I should move forward combining steemit, crochet and animation.

I have to confess I didn't design this flower! I did try but after creating several lumps of yarn barf (crochet flowers really aren't my thing) I had to enlist some expert help from my stitching sister Christine who spent several hours designing and teaching me to make it.

I'll be adding the flower to the hat once I have a few more pieces ready and Christine will be joining steemit and posting about her design process later today.

Post the pattern! Looks great.

We are going to work on some video tutorials, the flower pattern is on our list.

Would love to see it soon! ^^

we should have it ready in a few days @haizuru-ishida

The flower looks amazing! And it seems like complicated to make!

Christine would say it's very easy, but i found it quite challenging. But christine specialises in making flowers where I'm more of a "ah lets just see what happens" kinda girl.

Oh my, that is amazing! If you were trying to bring a tear to my eye then you have succeeded! I can't wait to see who/what else will be on the Steemit beanie!

We are both so pleased you like it.

I'm ecstatic. My nan used to teach me how to crochet, but that was when I was a little girl. I would love to learn again. My house is full of crochet blankets, it's very granny chic!

Always enjoy your posts. Looking forward to your friend and her content!
PS: Yarn Barf should go on hat also........ can't all be pretty

I have a yarn barf recycling policy so it doesn't go to waste but i really wouldn't want to put it on a hat.

Long as it's not wasted :)

Your new name the crochet queen, you make it look and sound so easy

nah I'm happy being me besides I'm not a royalist.

I may try this is there is a video tutorial, I'm a visual kinda person, so seeing it will be a lot easier for me :)

there will be soon :D

I just read Christine's post and I am in awe of all your creativeness, I cannot wait to see the beanie but honestly, you may have to go bigger. Like a wall mural or something. LOL

I've always wanted to try a craft like this! I love your choice of color.
