How do I market a new Steemit post so I can make a lot of money?

I can’t think of any way to market any particular post in such a way as to maximize the rewards for that particular post other than making a really, really awesome post.

If you buy votes from a bid bot to send it to Trending to boost its visibility, you’re likely to get downvoted until your rewards are smaller than the sum you paid for the vote. That’s because paying anyone to advertise anything on Steem or anywhere is an insane idea. If you send memos to a large number of people advertising your post, you’ll annoy a lot of people. You can go to discord to promote your post on channels established for that purpose but I don’t think that would be effective.

You are much more likely to be rewarded well for a great post if you have established a following. That you can accomplish by engaging other authors in the comment sections of their blogs. That’ll take some time, though. While there are curation projects looking for great posts on Steem, some of them former bid bots, it is more likely that your post will be discovered by one of them if you have a following. One or more of your followers could give your post a big upvote and resteem it (share it with their followers in their feed) in hopes of large curation rewards awarded to those who find and upvote content that will be upvoted with a lot of voting power later.

I would say the only way is to build a following, make that post really great and have it discovered by a curation project or a user with a large following.

Authors get paid when people like you upvote their post.
