Two days ago I wrote an article about the Steemit gift cards that I made for @surpassinggoogle. The plan was to hand it out to selected people and encourage them to join our Steemit community. The timing was perfect when I got an invite from a PR officer. So I immediately message @surpassinggoogle and told him to join us and he said yes.  😁 

I arrived at the RTL CBS Extreme's event for the special screening of The Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge Season 2. I met so many bloggers, reporters, and marketers on the event. I gave them a brief introduction about Steemit and majority of them look interested. Nobody knows about Steem and how it works so I asked them if they know about Bitcoin, most of them said yes.

I said, it's kinda similar to Bitcoin but it's a new internet currency. I told them that Steem is a blockchain-based social media platform where anyone can earn rewards. When they heard the word "reward", their eyes lit up.😛 Haha! I'm just playing. So to motivate them to sign up with us, I gave out @surpassinggoogle's Steemit gift cards where they can get mentored by him and they will get a welcome gift of 100 pesos worth of Steem.

Before the screening starts, the host who looks like Erwan Heussaf gave us some background about the show. It was inspired by Joe De Sena and Jeffrey Connor of Spartan Race, Inc. In each episode, six teams with a group of five athletes will compete to win $250,000. That’s a huge amount of money!

To make the special screening more exciting, they ran a raffle. They have these name lists at the registration and the host randomly pick a piece of paper with our name on it. Guess what?! I won! I got this Spartan Sprint Philippines 2017 race pass for September 16 event at Timberland Heights, San Mateo Rizal. But too bad I can’t come because that’s my big sister’s wedding date. I will just give it to my sporty friend. :-)

Spartans Workout

After the screening we tried out the badass workout from Fitness First coaches. I sweat like a piggy oink oink after doing the 10 workouts for 1-minute interval. I bet this is nothing compared to the grueling obstacles in the show. The coach selected 2 bloggers who nailed the workout and they won a 1-month Fitness First subscription. Pretty cool aight? 😎 

The overall experience was fun coz I met Kezia of RTL, Noelle of Kikayrunner, Adrian of Takbo, Allan of Starmometer, Mike of BusinessWorld and Anj of Pep. RTL CBS Extreme’s staff was so kind and generous, they gave us some freebies! Yay! 

 I also got a water tumbler but it’s not on the photo coz I gave it to the taxi driver on my way home coz he was super nice and I enjoyed the conversation we had about the Philippines’ economy. 🙃

Meeting my mentor, @surpassinggoogle

Terry woke up late so he didn't make it to the event. Meeting my mentor was the first time was awesome! I didn't know he's super tall! I'm 5'6" and he's like more than 6" tall. We hang out at Sandwicheese and talked for hours. He's a funny guy! Out of nowhere he asked, "What's the weird thing about you?"  😱 

I was caught off guard, I don't know what to say! Lol! I told him to eat first coz he might be woozy from the long trip. He lives like 1 hour and 20 minutes away (with traffic of course). I appreciate his effort coming all the way from another town. He is selfless, he would do anything for Steemit. High five! ✋ 

After all the mentoring stuff, we hand out some gift cards at the mall. He went up to the real estate brokers since they were giving out flyers, he thought it would be a smart idea to hand them the gift cards. He said they're doing a hard labor selling properties. So he thought they need Steemit. He talked to them like he's a life coach, his love for Steemit is so loud and clear. 

I listened to him closely and I can see the passion in his eyes for Steemit... I'm like, "Damn! This man has a nice vision of bringing all the people in the world to join Steemit." He has a strong belief in the community, I can't use any more words to describe his enthusiasm. All I know is that, he's sensational!
