Go flag yourself. How not to correct a mistake.

OK, I'm sure for most this will be self-explanatory so this is for the noobs, such as myself, fondling in the darkness. Perhaps those in the know can lend me some assistance as well.

Sooooo don't screw up a ton of image links and try to edit. I know Steemit is still in beta and apparently doing so causes it to spin its wheels when you try to edit. 12 hours later and it's still spinning. I am fairly new to blogging so basic html is not in my immediate skill set but I am quickly learning.

Worse yet, don't get impatient. After waiting several minutes and several refreshes later...waiting, I decided to simply re-post the article I wrote with the correct edits. Well, I did not want to have two of the same article floating around so I thought, "Hey, maybe I should just flag (down vote) my own post so it reduces the visibility and push people to the new updated version. I can delete it later."

WRONG! SO WRONG!

Not only did I damage my own rep, but apparently I don't have the rep to remove my own down vote to my own post!

Learn from your mistakes. Better yet, learn from others' mistakes.

Now, does anyone know how I can fix this other than waiting and hoping I can eventually delete the post?

I think the only thing you can do is delete the text in your post and write something like "delete" or "I fucked up disregard this brain fart". You have a certain amount of time before what you wrote becomes undeletable because it's on the block chain.

Dang. Well, thanks for the info. Lesson learned!
