If you get in touch with others, you can conclude that you feel united to everyone - to all humanity - because you share with many things, most of them vital things, such as the need to breathe or drink, and also of wanting and feeling loved.

He can also perceive that he feels the same as some, and therefore different from others, as a member of a collective in a specific area of which he is a member, which excludes him from other groups in that same area.

And finally, you can also feel that it is different from everyone, that is, unique, that there is no one who is like him.

They are the three perceptions one can have in relation to the rest. Be the same as everyone. Be like some. Be different from everyone

All three are true, real, objective. And all three must be perceived in a balanced way, each one deciding to what extent it will be balanced.

We could call them global consciousness, group consciousness, individual consciousness

As always, it is easier to examine this issue if we do so in the light of a specific assumption, for example, language. All human beings share a universal language. Thus, a loud laugh or a cry of horror express in a way common to all - all humanity - the same feelings. In that we are all equal. This would be to perceive the global consciousness.

Following this same example, the language, the group conscience is marked by the different languages that make us members of a linguistic collective, the group that make up the speakers of a language, and excludes us from other collectives, from the languages we do not speak .

The individual conscience in this example is shown by the fact that we know that the expression of our face is unique and the sound of our voice is unique. Nobody else has the same.

The problem arises from the fact that there is one of these three types of consciousness that is perceived almost completely, which has the consequence that the other two do not extract the knowledge whose experience we could offer.

The most habitual consciousness, of which our mind is occupied almost all the time, is the group consciousness.

The few moments in which we are not busy paying attention to the parameters that group consciousness marks us-work, family, politics, money, leisure, friends-we can feel the individual conscience. In some people it seems that these moments are even more scarce because when they perceive the individual consciousness it happens in a fleeting way. They feel "group beings". They only conceive of themselves if it is as members of a collective.

As far as global consciousness is concerned, we barely -or never- experience it even though it exists and is as important as the other two. One could say, using a food simile, that we are completely malnourished of global consciousness. Perhaps humanity as a whole could suddenly acquire that consciousness if one day the skies of the entire planet appeared full of ships of extraterrestrial origin ...

¿What does the group conscience have to occupy us almost all the time?

As we have said, it is the one that includes us and therefore also the one that excludes us. If it includes us in a family, nation, profession ..., etc., it excludes us from the others.

And we mention family, nation or profession, but we can continue with an endless list, community of neighbors, football club, company, municipality, age, stature, sex, language, continent, beliefs, political ideology, philosophy of life, character, hobbies , married, single, divorced ... etcétera, etcetera, et cetera ...

All these parameters are indicative of our group consciousness. We are, or we feel, part of some of them. Humanity is parceled in these parameters, and one of the most present is what determines that we are separated / grouped by country.

The individual conscience is what makes us unique in front of the rest, in front of all humanity

We already know that the human being is unique physically, as it shows that our fingerprint is unique, as well as our DNA, or the iris of the eye, the voice, the facial geometry, and so on. Moving a little further in this direction, we can deduce that, similarly, we are equally unique in that which does not belong to the physical world, that is, to the tangible, visible, measurable world.

And therefore, we all have something to say, do, express, think ... that was never said before, done, expressed, thought. That is, we are creative creatures. It is in our nature.

Surely that is why we have always heard that we are made in the image and likeness of the Creator (assuming it exists), because we share his creative nature.

¿Why is the human being the only creature made in the image and likeness of the Creator?

If we look at the rest of the creatures that inhabit this planet, we will see that a tiger, a mouse, a dove, a dolphin ..., they live today just as their neighbors lived a million years ago. Do not believe They repeat collective patterns, invariably.

If man were not creator -individually- we would continue living as a million years ago.
