I am glad to say that I already have a 3,353 followers here in Steemit. I've just recently join to this platform just a few months a go and I found out that it so much interesting and really fun, spending most of my time here in Steemit makes me more knowledgeable to my life compared before.
Having more follower is one of the good advantage in Steemit, because it enables you to have a wider and bigger amount of audience, it only means that more people can read your shared post, each time you made one. More followers guaranteed more people to likely engage with your activities. That's why I'm so lucky to have these few thousands of followers, and I'd like to thank all of you who follows be back.

I think he is saying he just followed as many as he can, expecting that in return a percentage of them will follow him.
I see the other comment below and I must say, most of us look at it in a more mature manner, but, for a newbie, he has done well. Say that only 10% of his followers communicate and upvote his posts, that still gives him over 330 people who benefit him in one way or another.
I would not blame him for thinking that once his Rep is in the high 60's and he is starting to make some decent money, he can then look for friends and maybe even help others. That he is willing to do so is shown by his making this post.
I have been posting for 4 months, have less than 800 followers, but, I only have somewhere between 10 to 15 people who upvote me. I do not concentrate on how much I earned, just how many people upvoted. After all, Rep goes up even by votes that cannot pay anything - or so I have been told.

I'm following people that I know get good rewards on a consistent basis in an attempt to maximize curration efforts once I lease some SP using minnow booster. I have it all set up on SteemVoter. Also, it is useful to watch upvote bots to see who is using them, and upvoting their posts after they are 30 minutes old, and hardly anyone has upvoted that post. you know if they bid 10-50 SBD, that the post will have rewards no matter what.

Congratualtions on your success in Steemit. That is probably some kind of record for just one month. However you did it, I hope it pays off. Do you think you could get some of your followers to follow me? I try to encourge some of my followers to follow new people from the introduceyourself page on a regular basis.
I have not been able to tell if I have any kind of influence yet. I would hope that one day I could get many people to follow newbies at my suggestion. I do agree with @lifeinspired in that is is about relationships.
