This was me on Friday.
The snow was a little deep and I got a little too far to the right. A farmer pulled me out with his tractor and everything was fine, but I'm ready for fucking winter to be over soon.
Like tomorrow.
But it looks like we'll have to wait until the end of the week for the first signs of spring.
Anyhow. I guess I can start to loosen winter's noose around my neck. Soon enough I'll be complaining about the mud.
Another thing that has me down a bit is all the shit going on in Steemit. I probably shouldn't have read any of the posts to do with it, but I've always been a truth seeker. Anyhow, this is my take on it.
I can understand giving yourself a little, but how much do you need? I guess I'll never understand the greed of people. It may make me naive, but I think that's better than giving in to it.
It makes me wonder whether it's even worth posting my thoughts on here. I already have websites that I can make nothing with. I thought Steemit had great potential, but then you start seeing what's going on behind the scenes with only a handful of people able to do anything about it.
Well, if I had been here a year ago, maybe I could have built up some SP and a good reputation, but it looks like that ship sailed without me on it. From the sounds of it, things will get worse before they get better, but I'm just going by the accounts of others. The one great thing going for Steemit is a community of people who want it to get better and support the fight, so there is always hope.
I guess I will stick it out and see how it all shakes out. I only have my time invested, and we all know it isn't worth the powder to blow it to hell, so I won't be out anything if everything goes to shit.
The fiasco going on here on the platform is definitely disappointing, as you said. I've thought about it and wonder whether it's just that the whale war going on gets more coverage and attention, just like yellow journalism in the media landscape.
There are people, with large and small amounts of SP, that are focused on building communities and the platform, which is the one thing that has been preventing me from just leaving.

Can you link me to some of the articles you mention about stuff going down at steem? Just haven't seen anything about it so I am interested in reading up on it.

I hear you buddy. You have taken the time to write something from the heart and you get sod all in return. Meanwhile someone writes “STEEM r gud!” And gets $500. Galling. Like you I will persist for a wee while then sack it.

Yeah. That's probably the way I'll do it too. Sort of fade out with a whimper. I don't mind writing for free, but I'll do it on my blogs, then I don't have any corruption to worry about, except my own.
Plus I make enough from the Amazon links to pay for my hosting fees for the year. It used to cost me about $200/year to write, now it really is free.
