When I first published my articles outlining the Top Ten Mistakes Crypto Newbies Make, I hoped to turn them into a short eBook.
As of tonight the articles have been streamlined into eBook format, updated and revised as necessary, and the cover is close to completion.
It's a humble book of less than 25 pages, but I think it will help people avoid making some dumb mistakes I've made.
My focus has been not on "how to invest" so much as "protect yourself". Why? For one, I'm not licensed to give investing advice in the US, and while I'm happy with the decisions I've made in cryptocurrencies, I don't feel comfortable telling other people what they should buy. But everybody makes mistakes. Warren Buffet famously quipped, "Never lose money" as Rules number 1 and 2 in investing. Finding out how to not lose money is almost as important as which cryptocurrencies to buy.
I'm really glad, for instance, that I didn't buy into the Tezos crowdsale this summer. I wanted to, because I think the project is cool, but the capless raise was insane, and my money hasn't been held up in an international scandal with $1 billion at stake. That didn't make the book, though. Maybe it'll make the Second Edition.

None of this would have happened without Steemit, so as we get closer to book launch I'll create some opportunities for steemians to pick it up at either a discount or free. I'm still learning the ins and outs of Amazon publishing, so no promises yet, but follow closely in the upcoming weeks for more info. I'd like to experiment with promoting my book via Steemit and offering fully powered upvotes to those who leave a 5 star review on Amazon, or who resteem my post when it goes on sale. I'll likely borrow some Steem Power for that week to really help get the word out.
