Censorship is Coming
Some may say its already here, however within the crypto space, developers have made it easier for the community to have their voices heard.
There has been mass censorship on youtuber's recently, with accounts being taken down and changes in algorithms to make it increasingly harder to find the content you desire.
This weeks news of Google banning cryptocurrency ads, following Facebook's lead, may be the beginning of censorship on social media platforms.
The only social media platform that is yet to give their stance is Twitter, although according to recent news, the CEO of Twitter Jack Dorsey, is under pressure to follow in the footsteps and crack down on misleading ads promoting cryptocurrencies and ICO's.
In my opinion, the targeting of scam businesses/ICO's and ponzi schemes would be helpful in the crypto community as there are many newcomers who are uneducated and blindly follow without hesitation and/or ignore the security methods to secure their investments.
I have been involved with Crypto for a while now,and most times there is always speculation, rumours and FUD surrounding it, but the more I read and research, the more I feel certain that we are taking footsteps into mass adoption of this new technology.
This is what brought me to Steemit :)
The Steemit platform has grown in adoption and popularity, and I do not see it stopping. The information provided by users of the platform come in many different ways, whether it be by blogging or vlogging, tutorials or stories.
The content is controlled completely by the user and lives forever on the Steem Blockchain and cannot be censored.
This brought me to search if there were any alternate sites that our similar to Steemit, and it was not too long until I found out that Steemit offered me all I needed.
DTube
dTube has been around for a while and runs on the Steem Blockchain. It provides a decentralised video sharing platform that is linked to your Steemit profile. Users can upload their videos onto dTube and in return earn crypto for providing useful or entertaining content.
Youtube is still primarily dominant in this field, although the chances of earning revenue from it has become more difficult and with more reports of channels being wrongly silenced or shut down, I am certain dTube could provide a more comfortable platform where the freedom of expression still exists.

Zappl
I am yet to try this, however the idea and use case of this could easily see mass adoption.
Zappl which is currently in Beta, is a micro-blogging site/app that aims to decentralise blogging by utilising the Steem Blockchain.
It is very similar to Twitter and allows users to post,upload photos/videos, basically anything at all without being censored. The app also has an inbuilt wallet which allows users to have access to their Steem and SBD at all times.
They will soon be adding a text/audio/video chat service which will be fully encrypted - another Bonus!

Conclusion
Steemit has become a second home for me, I may not post as much as I want to, but I am constantly educating myself about cryptocurrency and the blockchain and how it CAN and WILL become the most disruptive technology that exists for the greater good.
