Steemit is like other social media websites where users can post, comment and upload images, etc. But what makes it different is that, user's posts and comments have a pontential to gain value depending on the likers' or upvoters' appreaciation with the author's idea. Isn't that a bright concept?

The two responsible ones for making this platform happen were Mr. Ned Scott and Dan Larimer. They built Stimeet Inc. company in 2016 that runs Steemit website and finances the ongoing progress of the project.

The platform has the Steem Blockchain. This blockchain produces steem and steem dollars as rewards for posting interesting contents. Based on my understanding, this system is like a machine that makes "rewarding posts and comments" possible in a secured process. Correct me if I am wrong.

Speaking of rewards, yes ofcourse everyone is entitled to receive rewards! At first, I admit it, I was so captivated. Upon hearing the news from a friend, it really made me very curious about a platform where posts and comments are rewarded. Who doesn't want to be rewarded??haha. My curiosity dragged me here. And I am very thankful for that.

And as days went by, I started to realize something. Being a beginner, I think we all should not focus on rewarding. Rewards should be on the last of the list. First things first.

First, "STOP"for a while and think why you are here. There are things that are more important than receiving rewards. We are also here to be given the opportunity to learn new things. To broaden our knowledge, to improve our skills, to discover the unknown, and to have a wonderful experience while on the platform.

Ernie Baron, a Filipino Broadcaster and a Weather Forcaster, once said, "Knowledge is Power! If there's no knowledge, there is no power". Indeed. For me, knowledge is the foundation of success. We must learn important things in life to be able to withstand the waves we encounter. Learning is the best tool we can bring to start our adventure here on steemit world.

Having new friends here is also important. For they may serve as "tourist guides" in exploring this world. They are like pebbles that must picked and collected to create a stepping stone which will bring us to a higher level.
