steemit.com resource usage (cpu/memory)

Anyone else find browsing the site excruciatingly slow at times? Particularly CPU usage, but also memory usage is spiking. Especially longer posts, or just scrolling through topics (new, trending, etc.) I've tried different browsers (I'm on Linux). Any recommendations?
