hey there @kenhudoy, steem was hovering around 9.2 to 9.5 sbd worth for a while recently, which is still relatively high, poking just over 1.0 sbd recently.
Because the feed price of steem/sbd being low at the moment, more steem power and tiny amounts of steem is being rewarded additionally for posts (this was very little in december, you can say those who didn't power up in december didn't grow). If this leads to people powering down a little of what they earn now and selling it, it will eventually bring the price of steem down again, otherwise we will probably be looking at a near future where steem is generally more expensive than sbd.
It would seem that sbd is being driven down and steem hovered under it, and if enough is sold steem could rise over sbd.
VERY IMPORTANT: this isn't the value of steem or sbd, its the internal market price of the two (the difference in each one's value internally)
