Yesterday my friend @noemillunastorta resteemed a post by @antonette in which she described her situation... which by the way is dire. But, the name at the bottom of the post did not belong to her, it belonged to someone named @mohsinahmed. In an effort or help, I too resteemed the post and sent $25 SBD to the name at the bottom of the post (@mohsinahmed) as did one of my followers, who also desired to help @antonette, a young mother in the Philippines who had been evicted and had no food money for her children.
When I checked my blog later, the post I had resteemed was completely different than the one I had tried to resteem by @antonette... confused yet? I know I am! I checked @noemilunastorta's blog and the same thing happened to her... It was not @antonette's post on her blog page, it was the same as the one on mine. How could this happen? When I read it on my friend's resteem yesterday, it was the right post with the wrong name at the bottom. That's why I resteemed it myself. Not knowing Antonette, I assumed it was her username.
Thank God that many of the wonderful people here in the Steemit community stepped up to help (and the $$$ went to the right place. I checked @mohsinahmed's wallet and naturally the money I sent as well as the money my other friend sent was gone... and not to Antonette. Obviously this guy is a ripoff artist... if you see any of his posts- FLAG THEM!!! Let's make him pay for stealing money from a desperate woman with sick children (they have chicken pox) and no place to live... This is despicable!!! Please resteem this post so as many people as possible can be made aware. ALL money I make from this will go to @antonette (as well as the original $25 I had intended which I'm sending now)

well it's better than phone-scammers, at least here we have something to go by, it's people getting played on their emotions all the usual for scammers it seems, where I am, they basically call old grannies and tell them some family member is either sick and in die need or had an accident, so forward some cash .. sick shit, at least I don't ask for money I didn't earn, most of the time I work for free anyway if the idea is good.
RS'ed it will be a while before this storm quiets down, all the new accounts will basically take care of themselves sooner or later with this behavior at the very least.

funny thing is you never see anyone making a post like this if someone abuses other peoples art as in copyright violations and plagiarism but when people beg for money and put there own name under it, it's a scam .. i don't see the real difference to be honest. steemit is full of it but nobody wants someone in control to do something about it.

I don't know if you Saw Antonette's post, but she has small children sick with chicken pox, she had no food and was evicted, so they had no place to go and this scumbag stole her post! He'd not only steal from the blind man's hat, he'd kick him and steal the hat too!
I am happy to say that Antonette and her kids are ok now (thanks to the Steemit community). They have a place and plenty of food. I sent her a little money and will give her the proceeds from the post. You can never have too much money when you've got kids!
