We're all in it for the money, don't you lie to yourself!

Ok so Initially I thought of steemit as a place with a fantastic community and a great place to air my views and it is and you all are, Steemit wouldn't be the same without the type of people that currently use it. But despite earlier views every single one of us is posting to make money, if you weren't in it for the money you could go on any number of free established blogging sites. For a lot of people it's almost like the thrill of gambling.

You sit here carefully thinking of a topic to post about (checking the odds on the horses.) You think and sit religiously writing here on steemit trying to peak someone's attention, praying almost that what you've written will be interesting and someone, preferably a whale will say 'you know what that deserves an upvote' and when that happens and the value of your post goes up you are almost sitting there sometimes picking up your phone every 5 minutes refreshing in the hopes that it's received a nice upvote (like cheering on your horse to win) and when you see that whale upvote come in you think in your head yessssss!!!! and it's like your horse just won the race.

If you are solely in it for the money than you truely are gambling. You sit carefully writing your post, which takes time so therefore you have put up some of your life as a wager, if you get your upvotes you win! If you make nothing you lost some of your life you'll never get back and theirs that feeling of 'nobody cares what I write'.

So I know that I'm going to get a few purists here who are going to say they purely do it for the joy but of all of them I bet not a single one declines payout on all their posts?. Come on honestly can any single one of you say you haven't refreshed your browser quite a few times hoping for that little magic number to go up.

CONCLUSION
We all love this community we've become a part of and I've met some really amazing people through steemit but come on people without that little $ sign beside your posts would we all be so enthusiastic?

What is the harm in saying you want to earn more? Nothing. Let's all be true to ourselves and enjoy writing interesting content and making a little money to go with it.
