As I Realize Not All Dreams Can Become Reality

Have you ever had many wishes, hopes, and goals?
Have you ever written down the things you dreamed of accomplishing at some point in your life?
Have you ever noticed that some of your dreams will never come true, and some of your expectations are impossible to realize?

I have many desires, many ideals. In the past, I diligently wrote down every dream and wish. However, one day, I found that what I dreamed I could not achieve on the deadline I had set. Feelings of anger and disappointment raged within me. I asked God, why He allowed me to fail to achieve what I wanted. I knew I should not have questioned God, but at that moment the disappointment so overwhelmed me. My condition is pretty bad.

Until one night before bed, I read a friend's post on one of the social media. A chorus of the song titled Trust His Heart, which reads:

God is too wise, to be mistaken
God is too good, to be unkind
So when you do not understand, when you do not see His plan
When you can not trace His hand
Trust His Heart

In the Indonesian language is more or less meaningful:

God is so wise, can not be wrong
God is so good, can not be evil
When you do not understand, (when you) do not understand His plan,
(when you) do not see His hand,
Believe in his heart.

The poem made me reflect on what I was going through. It is true that many of my dreams do not come true, but I have forgotten some important facts. I forgot that there is one Person who always works behind the scenes. I forgot that after I was saved, the life I am living now is not mine. It was not me who was in complete control of my life. I forgot that even though I have a pencil and paper, God has a complete stationery!

God not only speaks through the song, but also through His Word. He helped me to understand clearly that He was the one who was in complete control of my life. A draft of peace and not an accident design, to give you a hopeful future. "

I realized that I had acted like a child who demanded all his wishes to be fulfilled and his prayers answered promptly as soon as he asked for them. I am not living as a servant who knows and believes in his Master, God who is in complete control of my life.

Friend, it is not wrong if we have many dreams and desires. But we must never forget that we have a sovereign God, who is in control of everything. We may just hold a pencil and write down all our dreams and desires, but remember that God holds his eraser. Allow Him to remove our improper desires, and write His better plan in our lives. And, notice how He works behind the scenes of our lives.

When you feel the circumstances surrounding you do not go according to your wishes, do not be afraid! God, the Creator is and will continue to work to fulfill His plan in and through you.
