Whales
In steemit , the most powerful body are whales. Whales are the steemit users with highest steemit power . They have influential reward capacity who have power to raise the reward to 500$ to 1000$ when a pod of whales hunt together.
There's no specific time period where someone becomes a whale , it is the only measure how much of steemit power do you have. You can't just be whale by asking other to upvote you or giving task to other to upvote you.
Curation reward
Actuallu curation rewards all deals with the choosing power . If the post you upvote gets lots of upvotes after you and earn some serious amount then you will earn curation reward. The majority of the curation rewards are claimed by the first 5-10 curators and who upvote after them would earn but it would be very less amount.
So wisely choose the post to upvote because steemit is the platform where you can earn by upvoting too.
