My Goal on Steemit and helping you setting yours!

in steemit •  8 years ago

Everyone has a point in their lives that they want to accomplish something. Whether it’s personal, business or just for fun! Your goal is to achieve that goal! Well I have many goals in life in which some are:

  • Personal bound (think of improving myself and my skills on a personal level)
  • Business bound (Having success in my own company or something else)
  • Just for fun. Those fun goals have something to do with Steemit as well. But how do you set a goal in the first place? Well I will help you set your goal with the example of my goal i’ve made here on Steemit!

How to set your goal?

To begin you have to ask yourself, why are you here? Are you in it for fun, for the money, to network or maybe it’s all of the above.

  • You have to define your personal goal and be very specific about it. Don’t be too general because you really want to have that feeling that you accomplished it.

My goal: By the end of the year, on 31th of December 2017 I want to have 1000 Steem Power.

Your goal might be different than mine and can be to make a lot of money on each post or you want to raise a community around Steemit or perhaps you want to share you knowledge on Steemit. Everything is possible, but your goal should be measured and just posting or getting to 1000+ followers isn’t really a goal.

  • Break your goal into actions. Set targets for your goal that are achievable.

My Goal: To acquire 1000 Steem Power at the end of the year I need to earn at least 5 Steem Power a day. In order to do that I will post valuable content that others like and be active on Steemit.

When you broke down your goal into actions you have decided on how to achieve it. Perhaps you have that community goal so you have to break down on how large you want to have that community or perhaps on what kind of members you want in that community. If you want to make a lot of money on short term you want to say how many posts you want to make to get that amount. This step is actually your roadmap that helps you reach your goal!

  • Set your deadline. This is a final deadline and you can’t change it!

My goal states that it has to be achieved on the 31th of December 2017.

If you have a goal without a deadline you aren’t motivated to pursue it. It’s more like a dream and eventually you will get there. You have to be really specific on your date and stick to it. When you’ve reached the deadline you have accomplished it or you’ve failed. It’s great if you accomplished it but if you failed you have learned a valuable lesson to achieve your next goals. Without a deadline you can’t fail and with failure you learn! So do it!

  • Make a regular analysis of your goal

I will track my Steem Power and how I get to it. Some days I get more and some days I might get less than 5 Steem Power. Each month I will do a review on where I stand and if I have to step up my game or can play it a bit cool.

You have to keep track of your goal and evaluate it at different points towards the deadline. Check if you’re on track to accomplish it or not. When you are critical with your analysis you will find that you get more motivation towards that goal! It’s also a moment to see if your goal is realistic and that you can make it for sure. When you see that it’s possible, go for it and don’t look back!

If you don’t have any goals you, don’t worry. It’s not needed but if you’re in it for the long term than I would definitely recommend it! It keeps you motivated for sure. You can also have more than 1 goal ofcourse! If you have a goal, what is it? let me know in the comments!

My goal: I want my last illustrated flash fiction post to make $200 within 4 days, as I know it’s definitely worth this sum. To reach that goal, only $199 is needed from now on. So I’m nearly there, lol.

Haha! Keep that spirit up ;) With the help of others you can make it work!
