Cooperative Creative Content

Making money is an obvious attraction to being a part of the Steemit community. For me, an even more compelling reason to join and take an active role is the opportunity and challenge of creating my own content. The fact that this opportunity also may result in some extra cash flowing my way is a bonus.

I’ve been here for a few weeks now and I am pleased with my progress. Sure, I’d like to get more exposure but realize that how many people visit my posts and comment or upgrade is largely up to me.

For the past while, I have been exploring the photographic possibilities of my smartphone. This is fun and has opened my mind to a new stream of what ifs.

The photographic contests are helpful. They provide a focus for creativity. I’ve also read a number of how to succeed on Steemit.

Some are useful. Others repeat information that anyone seeking to be a content creator should already know. Originality, ownership, consistent, all make sense.

Find your own niche, sounds good but is much more difficult to do. There are more people joining the content creation world every day. That is both exciting and exasperating. This increase in content creators increases competition.

On one hand, more, competitors can mean that each creator must hone her or his own skills if they want to thrive. The struggle for self-improvement can result in the quality of what is being posted improving. The best survive. No problem with that we can all do better.

However, I feel a more effective way for this digital experience to move forward is through creative collaboration. People working together to help each other.

On Steemit, this can be done by upvoting and commenting on others’ work which is actively encouraged.

In addition, why not take a cooperative approach to content curation. Simply put, this means a group of people working together on a project. I am still working on how this could be accomplished here and am open, very open, to suggestions as to how cooperative, collaborative creative content curation could work. Thoughts?

Authors get paid when people like you upvote their post.

Sort Order:

Keep posting and keep commenting and your own community will come together. There are some organized efforts around guilds and curation trails. I have not gotten involved but you should spend some time researching. There may be some ideas there to get you started.
