The Customer from Hell ( at My HEB Home Delivery Grocery Job)

She looked at me as if I had just kidnapped her first newborn child. Her eyes had a wild and ' glazed over' look with fire literally coming out of them.

The mad woman behind the wheel of her Honda Accord looked at me with the most serious and deadly look and then blurted out , " You have my groceries " !! " YOU HAVE MY GROCERIES"

I accepted a part time position delivering groceries to residents from the largest grocery store chain in Texas called HEB ( which are the initials of the Founder named Howard E. Butt).

It's a pretty straight forward gig that I truly enjoy and get paid a fairly good amount of Dollars to perform.

I simply drive up to HEB and get deliveries dropped in my car, and I then deliver them to homes of Customers.

This one particular day...

I delivered to a lady whose house was not coming up properly on my GPS navigation ( on my I-phone). Since I was less than a half mile from my house, I decided to go there and use the bathroom and make a quick call to this residence to get the proper address she lived at.

Well as I pulled in my neighborhood

I noticed a gray Honda Accord tailgating me very closely. As I drove to turn in my driveway this Accord and the crazy woman operating it literally cut me off from getting in my own driveway. Nearly coming within a foot of side swiping me. That's when she rolled down her window and yelled "YOU HAVE MY GROCERIES".

I told her I was sorry and she just she yelled back telling me she was flailing her arms to get me to stop when I was near the road that leads to her home just a few minute before.

She had this truly wild look in her eyes

And I was a little shaken to be honest as I have never dealt with a species quite like this in all my Life ;) But I managed to pull it together and followed her back to her house to deliver her groceries.

When I finally arrived back at her home to deliver the Goods, I tried to be nice and play through the charades of being the thoughtful customer service rep of the largest grocery chain in Texas.

But deep down I just wanted to get the hell out of there and be done with this female nutcase who chased me down to my own house....nearly ramming the side of my car over a bunch of freaking groceries

Later on as I told my story...

a number of my cohorts suggested I call Dispatch and get her banned from using the home delivery service. But I never followed though.

Just hope none of the other workers have to put up with this batsh@t crazy customer from hell that I had to !! :)

Cheers to the Human Race,
Robert Andrew

The said woman seem to be traumatize or maybe she is having some emotional or psychological problem ,something like that do happen in the world of salesmanship and marketing. you might meet some really unstable persons that their attitude will be very debasing, you just have to learn howto deal with such persons @robertandrew

Yep unstable for sure. But in all due respect I do not have to deal with ANYONE trying to side swipe my car EVER...just sayin' ;)

seems like a very scary customer, hehe

why is every customer the worst, I'm curious

You never hear about the airplane that lands safely. You only hear about the crashes and weird things that happen. We do this because everything else is so routine.

Actually the title at first gripped my heart.

The world is full of people like that. You should see what @kaitulrich tweeted yesterday. Some crazy lady was throwing rocks at the apartment Kati manages. The reason? Lil Wayne lives there, and he's part of the Illuminati.

For sure! I would have called the cops. Aggressive driving is still a ticket-able offense in a lot of places. Also, if she was able to be out driving around why didn't she pick up her own dang groceries? Pretty pretentious if you ask me. Glad you made it out of there alive! Are you able to decline drop off's from that customer in the future?
