According to SimilarWeb data, Steemit currently generates around 30-40 million user traffic per month, which is no small feat by any standards.
But another important parameter to note is that while Steemit's userbase and popularity is continuously growing, Facebook is facing #QuitFacebook and huge recent drop in stock price as well.
It's only a matter of time when Steemit will become more popular than Facebook.
The reason is bulk of the platform value in Steemit is distributed among the users, whereas in case of Facebook, the company extracts most of the platform value generated by user content and user attention.
Disintermediation is inevitable. We are all still early users of Steemit considering the fact that a lot of people still don't know about it.
Let's ensure that Steemit's awareness expands in our existing network and slowly and steadily, it will grow beyond our network.
