I just gave you $55. You deserve it. Welome to adulthood 3.0.
I always saw Steem Power in the context of adding wealth to others. From Day 1. That is why I wanted it so bad. Money, well, I have not been motivated to make money. I have a bad relationship with it, because I always attached the worst kind of greed monsters to the idea of money. I bought the definition of wealth that our society has created: vapid, soulless people who would run slave factories, raping the earth for profits. Now, with Steemit, I realize that wealth can coexist with deep philosophical value systems. We are finally free to realize that nature and money are both freely flowing and abundant. Scarcity has been designed to keep the masses enslaved, while the slave owners, the most psychotic individuals reap the rewards. This is a backwards system, divorced from natural laws. We have been living in a system that is designed poorly. Steem is designed with the best, nicest, most valued people being rewarded. Even if you decry the whole "the tits win the awards" thing, men, have themselves to blame. Without men voting for these tit posts, they would go nowhere. How many whales are women? I bet there are either 1 or zero. This is the true imbalance of the tit reward system. It will even out, maybe.......

@stellabelle spoken like a whale ;)

Agreed this simple post encompasses everything that steemit should be. Please post this from your account @stellabelle so others can see that while money is great and needed for sustaining life in our modern world, there are many more valuable things to pursue after. I happily vote for people that show they are selfless and use their profits here to make a literal difference. A child contributing a few pennies out of their small piggy bank to a charity is more valuable to me than a millionaire writing a check that is a drop in the bucket for him or her. The selfless act shows that you are willing to have less and give more. I really enjoy helping people realize what their value is and what they can contribute. Not everyone is a great writer, but everyone has a passion or story that sharing might make someone else's day or turn someone on to something new.

OMG, Leah. Please copy & paste this comment of yours and build upon it to become a story/article of its own.

YES. Yes. yes. So masterfully, wonderfully, wisely stated.

you've stood out as one of THE best writers on this platform since I first got into it, and this perspectively completely sums up the attitude/outlook/perspective/philosophy that has inspired many of us who've invested so much of heart & soul into this.

PLEASE expand upon this and publish so it gets trending and more people will read. the more people that really get this, as you've well-expressed it here, the better for the whole community...

(and your votes are worth $55 now?? you have indeed joined the ranks of the whales. :-) )

im a fatty dolphin still. Soon to be an Orca though

I would rather call you a shark,not a dolphin :)
Dolphin are peaceful, and sharks love profit :)

if you think @stellabelle is a shark, clearly you don't know her very well at all.

and don't fool yourself into thinking sharks don't also appear in the form of prancing around trying to knock other people down while concealing their intentions behind smiley faces...

Im glad you are generous to other people,it will make them happy for sure.
As you can see rok-sivante is ill and he really needs that.He will surely be excited about it :)

you mean like, "Biggie Smalls is the illest," ill...?

lol :-)

though to be serious for a moment - as it obvious based on all three of your comments on your thread what definition of "ill" you've intended...

be careful of what projections you make here. reflections may be provided that show you aspects of yourself you've wished not to see... as much as you may have been able to hide them from yourself, sometimes the writing is clear on the wall for others who can see through the words you put forward masked in smiles...

Hey dude! I enjoyed your post and Upvoted it!

I've only been here a little over a week and I've found some amazing stories and information from people in so many different backgrounds - I really enjoy my time here!!! Also, I think that learning about other peoples experiences is what helps me grow as a person so thanks for being here!!

The more I see the Steem power and SBD rewards come from my posts, the more I want to read other peoples content and reply to it. (I'm used to replying to comments on my YouTube channel because I love interacting with fans).

I consider myself a pretty positive person already, but learning about everyone else's journey and experiences is just making me feel even more positive about life (Even without the rewards)!!

I look forward to seeing more posts and I hope you have a great day!!
YEAH BUDDAYYY!!

-bigedude

I love your enthusiasm! :-)

That's how great steemit is and how HUGE the potential of this platform is. I don't have much power (I'm in the lower part of the powerlist of the website) but I tried to help a guy who's looking for help in this post. Unfortunately, it didn't go well... I hope people like you and @brunopro and others like-minded get to be top of the whale-list and can help less lucky people. Steemit can do it. Let's make of Steemit something even better than what it already is, I believe it can happen :)

Upvoted and following you, hope I'll see you around soon.
sharingtheworld

thank you for recommending @brunopro. this article of his is an EXCELLENT one.

Brilliant post. I love how Steemit encourages good behaviour. As the code gets refined over time, there will be no point gaming the system and the only answer will be to just get involved, be nice, and have fun.

YES.

upvoted for appreciation of your attitude. :-)

Oh thanks so much rok. Very much appreciated. Looking forward to more of your posts.

First of all I am thankful to @eSteemapp because they have added an awesome feature to showcase the top posts on the upperside of everbody's profile, that's how I found your amazingly well written blog

I am reading it and I can totally relate myself with few of the lines. Yes, It has become an addiction and I am learning a lot from the platform. I was never a social guy and I had never participated in the communities. The last 1.5-2 months have been amazing for me. Steemit is one of the reason I could get back to the track called life. I was unnhappy about my portfolio.
I am pretty sure that I am on the right track. Yes, the platform has rewired my brain to the some extent. I have started to involve in the communities. I am trying to add values wherever I can and the most important I am loving whatever I am doing.
I truly appreciate your act of giving money to the people who appreciate it with love. It is kinda unconditional because you don't expect anything from 'em. This experience is itself a reward and money is nothing in front of this overwhelming feeling.
It was a wonderful experience to know your perspective because these kind of articles are gems for the new users . Resteeming...I would love to read more from your side.
Lots of love

Whoa. How interesting - always a trip seeing comments come in on posts two years old. A rather cool eSteem feature indeed. :-)

Well. I would say your way of writing is incredible. I am eager to read and learn more from your side. You always talk about adding value and that inspires me for sure.

🙏

Curious as what others that eSteem feature might bring up - there’s some gems buried in there from the last couple years for sure...

  ·  6 years ago (edited)

There are many awesome features I would say.I like all of 'em

  1. Schedule your post
  2. See your money in your native currency.
  3. Encrypt comment. I came to know about it today.
  4. Best posts on the top of your profile. Personally I love it and still discovering. ..

I since I know the world of the bitcoin, the ethereum and steemit, I realize that people here see more than other people. I.e., that obviously an of our goals is the of winning money. Whoever says that he is not lying. But we also have a desire to share our success, our deeds, our anxieties and failures. Gradually we will know each other, share some love with some, others will like us the way to captivate us with their stories or travel, but if there is something that unites us all is steemit. All have Steemit in common, and it is something extraordinary.

Really interesting to read.
I think it's a rare quality to be able to be this astutely introspective and highly articulate at the same time.
Steemit is the perfect platform to be rewarded for such abilities and you seem to have it nailed, sir.
Keep up the good work, and have an up vote from me!

Very good article, and very well writen. You got my upvote and respect Sir ;)

if you want a quick read: Steemit Community Challenge - "How can you change someones life for better when they are in need!"

thanks mate.

yea, I stumbled upon that post of yours commented yesterday. GOLD.

please keep up the good work with that attitude of creating value for the community. you will go far, exert some amazing positive influence, and make real magic happen. ;-)

Value is key, but the real value is not in the posts.

It's in the relations created out of posting and being part of network. Follow each other. Motivate each other. Be a better commenter and give constuctive feedback to improve one another's articles and writing.

post quite good, but not for everyone.

Agreed

You've got a very powerful and underated message here. Upvoted for sure. It struck me when you said "I persisted through that discouragement". I know what that is like.

Very insightful article. I got to admit, I had came to this site with the same mentality. More importantly though, I had always love writing and the act of expression but have repressed it for more "stable" career paths, and a really small (or rather consciously small) part of me wanted to go back and explore what I love.

After my first post (disclaimer: right now also my only), I felt my content isn't quite reaching out to people. And I thought that I should scour the posts on how to "game the system", so to speak.

I am glad that I stumbled into your article. It sort of reinforce into me that I have ideas that I want to materialise, I have stories I want to write. If I focus on just the rewards, I'm going to burn out on this site fast. Worse, I may conclude that writing is not for me.

Writing elsewhere, my hope of being rewarded ain't great either, but it is quite surprising how the small potential for great rewards can sway me into focusing on the wrong stuff.

Kudos mate.

A champion attitude... 😎🏆

I've had a similar experience with crypto since i've studied it over the years. It is very community orientated with very fast feedback loops for learning. If you read the steemit whitepaper, you quickly realize it is gold. They have been through a lot themselves getting this amazing platform operational and have made a lot of discoveries along the way. Recently, I've realized also that humans really don't know what we are. Are we a "language" or a syntax in the universe that is capable of seeing only certain language or syntax layers. An important point that I've discovered in the last year is the fact that we need to keep processing information through our own sphere to keep our minds growing and producing value for the whole network that we are a part of. You can start to see that Steemit has helped this learning as well.

It moves me each time I see someone come to this platform to make money (I think as we all did expecting just social media that could pay us) and come to the fact that changing your view from trying to hoard night paying posts and being jealous of others making more, to realizing this platform can can change more than your bank account. I rarely see anybody bragging about the success they have had. Like the white paper says, it has the opposite effect of the crab in the bucket theory. At first I was jealous of the makeup blog and then I thought why? Because someone else is successful is actually beneficial to everyone in the long term. And helping many new users establish themselves and not put on a facade and be real with each other we can make significant changes together. I enjoy helping new people by giving them a few tips and ideas so they can be successful early on and prevent great new posters from getting discouraged. In the short run it won't make any difference in my rewards, but people remember those who help and friendships and collaboration can be done. There is plenty of money to be made by everyone and generous people like to share (can't think of a rude or snobby whale or dolphin that people dislike). In all honesty I would ccontinue to use steemit if rewards were lowered or removed. I don't think that would happen, but I learn something new here each day or am touched by a great story. I still can't believe steemit only just got out of beta. And with developers that actually listen to users comments and suggestions (unlike some ceo's ahem Zuckerberg) and not by the companies decisions solely to increase their bottom line. I don't need a poll to tell me who has a better reputation between @ned and @dan vs. Zuckerberg. Wish you more successful Mr @rok-sivante 😀

Spoken like a true servant. 😊🙏

I have a question for you maybe you can help me with/proof if you get a moment. I think it's the kind of thing you might be good at or know someone who has the capability to do it. [email protected] is my email if you aren't too busy and have some time. It will take a little longer than a response post to lay it out.

Nice post Bro! Yes there is definitely power In giving. Steem Power just reinforces that giving on a monetary level. That's one way that one can receive real value, Is to give real value! Steem power has changed the way I look at post from now on. I have read some pretty amazing stories on this site. I hope that this community continues to grow and to give valuable substance to the rest of the world:) Thanks again-

Great post as usual sir :) I guess the post explains why the content always seems so curated.

I wrote a brief blog about this very concept a couple weeks ago :)

I am glad to see my theory get immediate confirmation:

Chris

Great post

Well hello.
I’m Elvis Hicks, a semi-autonomous reincarnation of Elvis Presley and Bill Hicks. I have a burger in one hand and a cigarette in the other.
My checks tell me this post is probably genuine, original content.
GOOD JOB! Uh Huhh!
Thank you. Thank you very much.
(Elvis has left the building)

lol. I'm not sure whether this is a bot post or not.

either way. it definitely made me laugh and smile. :-)

ok. totally a bot. but funny nonetheless.

Original content really pays

Nice post. What are some suggestions you have for improving this community?

commitment to continuously increasing standards of quality content created.

hold accountable to becoming a student of value and maximizing the value of every investment of time & energy into the platform.

it comes down to individuals stepping up and forcing themselves to grow, continually producing better & better quality content - continually learning, growing, upgrading, giving, refining.

that's the biggest opportunity I see right now - everybody stepping up their game and contributing in the ways they're best individually suited for...

I totally agree, I havent felt part of something in sometime. I have always stayed from the group mentality but here I feel like im welcome. !

tldr?

The only thing worth giving is being of service to others and helping them grow/succeed. Paradoxically, this creates the most value for yourself as well.

thanks highly appreciate this abstract since I currently writing a tldr bot and wanted to cross check automation vs human summarizing .

btw this is how the automated abstract currently look like:

Abstract:
While my first couple weeks on Steemit I was focused on the profit potential, a shift had occurred along the way.But a couple weeks into my Steemit journey, a creative flow was unleashed unlike anything I've ever experienced. The more I got rewarded, my subconscious began grasping a game-changing insight: the potential to create and share value here is a whole different ballgame.Because during the first 3 weeks continuously interacting with a system that's given such feedback, my entire relationships with social media, writing, sharing, money, and giving have significantly evolved. The more I proved this success formula to myself - ensuring to maximize the 5 types of value invested in each story and experiencing rhe rewards feedback - the greater my courage grew to expand my comfort zones by posting stories expressing vulnerabilities and aspects of my experiences I'd previously withheld due to insecurity. It wasn't just my own success I was creating - I was also contributing to the success of the community by passing on valuable lessons serving others to increase their success.I noticed another real big shift in the way my brain was working a few days ago, after reinvesting some Steem Dollars into Steem Power...When I paid attention to how my voting power was increasing, something happened at a deep level that fundamentally altered my outlook on the nature of giving and community. It provides a means of developing a deeper understanding of value through a straightforward, hands-on interface through which different forms of value can be (nearly) instantaneously created & exchanged - serving to integrate powerful insight into the nature of contribution & collaboration into one's perceptual frameworks and habits of action.

As always, a consistent writing style that will be a hit @rok-sivante
My response...

it is very nice, that man with brain is a part of steemit community!

Constructive blogs and post qin the race in this community

Interesting stuff. As a reader instead of a blogger, I find it important that the blogs I read are honest and not naive. As you stated above, some boring "introduceyourself" posts will get more votes initially and this will be very discouraging in the beginning. However, I think that if you continu to make fair posts like this, the market will eliminate those "spammy / trickposts" and focus on the bloggers that actually bring valuable information to the community. Keep it up!

I'm happy for you man! you find just what you need to , and your articles are very popular with everyone! continue in the same spirit . I'm sorry for my english , @rok-sivante

Great post! This might be one of the most encouraging pieces I've seen on Steemit so far. You're taking "relationships is the currency of steemit" to a whole new level and I love it.

The formula for success is serving others in their success.

YES.

Power:

The ability to beneficially impact others.

Double yes.

So much good stuff here. It's going to be an amazing ride to see how this fundamentally changes humanity for the better.

This post is great! I feel like Steemit had the same effect on me, and I love it.

  ·  8 years ago (edited)

Interesting post. Maybe it's just confirmation bias at work, but what you describe seems remarkably consistent with my first (and only) steemit post, although I was looking at it as an outsider.

"Does facebook’s economic structure promote incivility?"
https://steemit.com/blog/@remlaps/does-facebook-s-economic-structure-promote-incivility

You sound like a fan of neuroplasticity. Great post - thank you

Thank you for continuing to shine the light on VALUE and GIVING. So much more pleasant than reading about what people are willing to do to themselves to make some steem.

cheers to your success

You inspire me to brush up on my writing skills, lots of Respect man!

Thanks rok
All full steam ahead

For my reality I feel like Steemit came along when I finally started to invest money and really save money for once in my life. And this is like the reward -- I'm finally getting free money. The reward system of this universe is not faulty, it just works the opposite way that media and schooling program us to think.

Great post. I'm new here just now and have lots to offer in this vein. Need a few mentors to see my way around. Please suggest.

You've inspired me to join thanks @rok-sivante! look forward to seeing more of your posts

awesome. with a name like "Mr. Prolific," I'm looking forward to reading what you'll be writing... :-)

This article just taught me one very important thing about steemit.
Thanks to this system,we can make money-but what is most important,we can help sicks people, that really need financial help!

I would even say that steemit may turn out to be some kind of charity-we give ill people money, just with upvote, isnt it great?

If you support charity-you need to have money to do it.
IF you support ill people on steemit- you can just upvote,it costs you nothing, and gives help to others!

Steemit,thanks a lot!

@rok-sivante rok you're the man I always enjoy your posts

thanks mate. I appreciate the feedback - such is great inspiration to keep pumping out more.

cheers :-)

Unputdownable !

Nice post, it seems Steemit could be a new type of NLP...

Nice, excellent. and you will it all work? XD :D

I never believed the movies where the characters did a 360 in days.

But I suppose it really does happen. It needs some magic to make it happen. That's what Steemit has done for you.

Wonderful post. :)

Very interesting to read.

You are being addicted to Power, like the politicians. Your vote has the power to make others happy or unhappy. I don't see this as the best thing ever.

that's a theory. not a truth.

You feel Steem power! In your heart! =)

I love the elaborate :) I do agree creating value is the key. Your description of 21 brain revering process for success is so spot on :)
Waiting for more from you :) Thank you so much @rok-sivante :)

I had a similar revelation about this site even before I joined - I realized that this place had the potential to give valuable (key word) feedback, which totally changed my inner writing life and what motivated my writing. Feedback that's valuable not necessarily monetarily, but beyond that to subjective value. Gives a person a completely different incentive.

awesome. :-)

Your post inspired one of my own - I mentioned you and linked your article. Thanks for the inspiration. :)

https://steemit.com/steemit/@daoine-sidhe/why-steemit-produces-more-value-and-less-attitude-than-facebook

Great post - I too have only been on steemit. for a week and have found some great post and some not...yours was on the good list so i upvoted you ...Learning from others life experience is rewarding in so many ways. Thankyou

your welcome. now go pay it forward... ;-)
