I wish the developers of Steemit would be a bit more vocal about the problems they are facing.

I've seen developer messages on the 'trending' section many times, but they have been pretty quiet recently after this DDOS attack.

Would be valuable to have a “major announcements” type of tab somewhere that has official updates and info like these, surely...

Rok,

I have been using busy.org for a bit and it seems pretty safe. Do remember that steemit.com is technically not an official website for Steem. It is just one of a few that you can use as an intermediary to talk to the Steem blockchain. Technically, you could make your own way to talk to the Steem network without using a middle man.

I recommend busy.org because it was started by @ekitcho and @fabien with @Ned being one of the advisers for the site. You can check out their team here.

It has a refreshing look to it and I have really enjoyed using it so far. There are somethings I miss but other things are nice, like the ability to chat with people directly from the website. Which is definitely a nice thing as a few times I have wanted to PM some people to ask them questions or continue a conversation not on their blog.

Their source code is also posted on github and you can go on their and help them by sending in your own commits. To me, one of the best tools you can use is one that is public like busy.org.

Try it out! I promise you won't be let down!

Edit 1: Too add some info, you have the ability to favorite certain people and to bookmark pages if you feel you want to go back and read it at a different time as well.

Cool, appreciate the review.

(And coulda sworn I posted that thanks before, though guess the comment didn’t work - testament to the issue addressed).

I've had the same problem as well and even when it does work, this site loads crazy slow for me.

Started my power down because of this issue. I am fully aware that there are other functional front ends, but it makes me look really bad when I am promoting a website that won't load and then have to explain to new users to log in elsewhere.

You could just give busy.org your posting key - so they can't access your wallet, reducing the vulnerability in the unlikely event of a hack. I've been using Busy the last few days and it is a lifesaver.

Cool.

IF there ever WAS a hack as such - would we still be able to change our posting keys here with our Master?

Also, I had heard that eSteem might not have any keys stored on server, just password accessed on our end - do you by chance know it that is the case, which would mean it’d be even more secure than Busy...?

Good question.
Wondering how many other front-end allow to change password.

IDK about eSteem, but, YES you can change your keys with the master password.

I have been wondering this myself....thanx for stepping up and asking it. Followed, upvoted, and resteemed!!

Yeah it is really annoying. Too slow n sometimes it stops. Its too often. I think they shld do something about it....:(

Thanks for bringing this up. Been wondering the same thing. Had a lot of comments and upvotes not go through. Sometimes had to send them 3-4 times or just return at a later time.

Where did you see an official response about this issue?

Not really “official” - perhaps that was a technically incorrect term. Had just gotten word from various reputable users scattered amongst a number of posts and comments that the last issue was a DDOS attack.

OK, good to know anyway.

Great Post!
I have been having the issues with commenting on every comment for a couple weeks as you stated. Even this one. It’s rather frustrating. I also experienced one of my posts today not posting and just refreshed the page and my content was not posted. What’s going on !?
Thanks for sharing and steem on :)

Yeah, I wrote an article two days ago about 2 hours I lost in vain due to the issues on Steemit.com. - It was my own fault though, as I forgot to backup my content before I tried to publish my article... - So I lost it.

I also stumbled upon this error:

When I was trying to reply to & upvote a comment. Never seen that before. A very common issue is the "login" & loading time problem.

As soon as I'm trying to transfer funds or if I'm going back to Steemit's main page to look for other articles I either have to wait for like 20 seconds before I'm logged in again, automatically.. or I have to login manually again as it seems like I'm being "kicked out" for some reason.

That being said, I will never forget to make a backup (copy & paste) my content before I publish something again... But I would love to see a proper solution to these issues we're facing.

Ugh. The tough lessons.

Yeah, I always write and save my content in a separate word processor and then paste into Steemit...

It was awful, but as I like to be positive... - It was a good learning experience. :)

I just realized there's another issue.
I'm a level 66 on Steemit, and I know it said "Reputation Score 66" a couple of days ago, and it still says "66" on Steemd.com

However, it says 65 on my Steemit profile nowadays..

All these craps happen lately made me tried the busy.org and i think that is a solid alternative, not sure about the password security too tho.

Ha, yes, almost all my friends and me have the same question

Probably too many users for the existing servers

I haven't been having any error codes... but I am looking forward to using busy.org

I love the cartoon character of jacky chan there @rok-sivante 😊.

Agree ... could be some hacking forces at play here !!!

I didn't know about the busy.org. thanks for the info.. but yeah it's so frustrating my comments still take ages to publish.

Ha! I assumed it was my jungle Internet.

I might come to the same conclusion if I was still in Bali, though back in Canada with 150mb/second fibre... lol

Yeah it is challenging right now!

I too logged in busy.org

We can comment post upvote normally as on steemit. The problem is, nobody I know really use busy.org or alternative sites so posting is rather no point as nobody is online due to steemit down 😅

I just have to remind myself, whenever FB down, it affects millions users and sometimes issues go for months. Steemit only has 400k so far, so a week or two is still bareable, maybe? Unless when one has a lot on their wallet 😂
