Pesawat Seulawah RI 001 merupakan pesawat hasil sumbangan masyarakat Aceh. Pada saat itu presiden RI Soekarno memohon kepada masyarakat Aceh agar bersedia membeli pesawat terbang. Maka semenjak itu masyarakat Aceh secara gotong royong, bahu membahu mengumpulkan dana lewat "beras secupak". Hasil patungan dana masyarkat Aceh tersebut dibelilah pesawat yang diberi nama "Seulawah RI 001" yang merupakan cikal bakal lahir maskapai Garuda Air Ways. Replika pesawat Seulawah RI 001 berdiri kokoh di monumen Blang Padang Banda Aceh sampai sekarang.
