I enjoy connecting and talking to other steemians and think this is a crucial part of our platform that so many users neglect. Most are too concentrated on trying to make it here that they rarely take the time to talk to their followers or engage with others. Big mistake! Steemit is a social media platform and should be treated as such.
Forget about making money and do something to make Steemit succeed and grow as a community.
That's why I decided to start this series of short posts where we will disscus about a wide variety of subjects.

Q: How and when did you first hear about Steemit and what made you join?

A: I joined Steemit about 6 months ago after hearing about it from @dollarvigilante when he mentioned it one of his videos. I was quickly hooked after I found how it empowers the users instead of keeping all the profits as other social media websites do. For me this was revolutionary and I had to participate.
A: Short term goal is to get 5000 SP and become a Dolphin. Long term I'm hoping to free myself financialy from the unfair and corrupt monetary system and the enslavement modern society and way of life bring.
A: I have invested about 500$ but would have invested much more if I had the funds to do so. IMO steem is going to be worth 100$ in a couple of years and the more I can get before it goes mainstream the better.
I greatly apprciate and will reward every good comment but will punish spammers and any users trying to abuse my good will.
I first heard about steemit in November 2017 but never paid attention to it until December 2017 when my friend @tolustx won a contest on ADSactly and then he told me about it. I was amazed and wanted to know more about this platform that helps people bring out the talent in them and still pay them for doing so. That's how i found myself here and since i joined steemit, i have never regretted it.
I am barely 3 weeks plus on steem it but whenever I look at the whales, I become envious of them and ask myself when i am going to become a whale too. But like the saying goes '' drops of water make an ocean and little steps walk the mile''. I know i will get there someday, but that's what I hope to achieve.
Well, like I said earlier, I havn't stayed too long on steemit to become grounded in it as to start investing. I have only been earning a little amount from my posts and participating in contests too.

Great mentality man. You will get there some they just keep at it and publish quality content. Also if you got something for Dtube that can really push your rewards up high as you get 40$upvote from dtube for good contributions.
You should consider investing soon because we will go mainstream in a couple of months and prices will go up significantly and buying even 1 steem might be difficult.

Hey runicar! Great post as usual, to answer your question I became interested in Steemit after hearing about it on a Youtube video, not quite sure which one but the opportunity to write about things I was passionate about peaked my curiousity. So I checked it out and saw how the Steemit platform can change and improve lives, I was also inspired by how the community helps and support one another, that's why I joined.
My long term plan is to invest money into Steemit but currently I'm battling a condition that prevents me from working, but when I go back to work I'll definitely be investing. It's not about the money for me, it's being able to post content to wake up the nation, those that are sleeping and unaware they have power to effect change.

My answers are almost identical. Found the platform in exactly the same way as you. I don't have any precise goals apart from keeping up with my regular writing. I've invested a little more than you but as it was a while back I can't recall exactly how much.

How come you didn't invest more? Don't you see the potential that Steemit has? We are under the radar here and in a development phase. Imagine what will happen when we go mainstream soon with the HF20 + SMTs of course :)
Personally I would have invested a lot more if I could because I'm here for the long term and don't plan on taking out any steem, just stacking as much as possible.

I first heard about steemit 5 days ago from @simba , and a day later already joined this awsome community.
The thing that made me get hooked immediatly is the fact that here on steemit, you have big number of geart interesting authors and posts without all the social media crap. And furthurmore u get paid for participating in the community. What more can one ask?
I'm hoping to achive some knolwedge in the criptocurrency world and play a bit in the variant exchanges which you can trade steem in.
At the moment i'm not invested financially in steem but plan to in the very near future 😉

I learned about it at the beginning of the summer. It intrigued me and I started to learn about it. It took me good 5 days of hard core learning to fully understand the economics and why it might actually work.
I want to see Steem to replace old school platform that just sell your data and give you shit. I hope this model will replace or change current soc. networks.

I found Steem when I did a search in Youtube for help with Bittrex. The video is @jerrybanfield who is a Huge Steem supporter. He explain Steem the community and the earning potential and I was Hooked !!
So far my only investment has been posting. However selling off some Lite Coin to put into Steem as I type this.

I was introduced to steemit 15 days ago by a friend who advised me to try it, got a research on it and I was impressed with the idea. I did not invest any money, for my ambitions of steemis. I hope to become a well-known in the field of technology in this platform !
