Let's help the children of Chori

Comming from a sad, corrupt and empoverished country I soon realized the potential that lies in Steemit. An opportunity to change lives of many people that never got a chance to succeed in this plagued system that favors the select few. There are many people on Steemit that come from mentioned places, especially those living in Third World countries. Where you are enslaved by the system, working a job you never liked, only to get <100$ minimum wage that can barely ensure you a place to live. But what about food and other goods? You can forget about that as you will never be able to take care of yourself in a system like that. Where the 1% makes 95% of the money, while the 1% can barely make it through the month. Paycheck to paycheck. Back to back. What kind of life is that?

We can change that if we realize the true potential of Steemit that's it's ability to gather members from all over the world and with a couple of clicks help someone in need

Realizing that there is someone on Steemit living in Venezuela working for 10$ a month you can quickly see how we can easily change this person's life for better with just a little empathy and good will. Examples like that are countless and opportunities to help out are abundant on Steemit. We just need to look out for them.

With that in mind and a little help from The Law of Attraction I came across @jerryboy4luv and his amazing story about the Chori kids. Their problems, needs and how he managed to make one family's Christmas by giving them a couple of SBD which translated into N40,000 and it was able to cover all expenses and much more to ensure a lovely Christmas.

@jerryboy4luv Also wrote about a problem all Chori children are facing and that is that the government abandoned them, and teachers left their terrible excuse for a school. So now they are left on their own and the good will of a couple of people that decided to tutor them when they can. But it's a huge problem in a village where most people are uneducated to the point of not being able to read. Finding people able to tutor them is really hard, and most of the times there is no one able to do it. @jerryboy4luv proposed a solution for a sort of fundraising to ensure at least one teacher but didn't get the needed turnout so not much happened.

They really want to learn and make something of themselves but have been abandoned by the system and left hanging. With no one that really cares from them expect a couple of individuals like @jerryboy4luv who spend a couple of weeks in Chori tutoring the kids in his free time. When I saw that and the condition this kids are supposed to study in and how they are struggling to get help, it broke my heart and made me think of a way we can help them out.

Let's do something today and use our powers to change lives of those who need/deserve it

With the recent increase of SBD and STEEM prices now, our ability to give is much greater than ever before. Our upvotes are worth 5 times more than they were before and now we have an opportunity to really make a difference in someone's life with just a simple click.

The Goal

  • 180 USD is needed to pay one teachers monthly salary and I propose this kind of fundraising once a month or whenever it's needed to ensure at least one teacher
  • Everything more would be used to buy school supplies or food for the kids that need it the most
  • Long term goal would be to build a proper school for the kids (see the post above mentioned to see what kind of conditions the kids have to study in right now) , and that will only be possible if this takes off and people show their kind hearts and actually contribute to a great cause this is
