The thing is most people here see the post and then decide to just read it and not upvote or follow. Thats bit discouraging to some. Youre absolutely right about the following and creating a network :)

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

    And I personally like reply's specially on a set of posted pictures or something like that
