Good day to all steemit community, particularly minnows(newbies), I want you to pay attention to this vital information.

Steemit is a good community but you need to clear your mind from making money as quick as possible, rather learn how to make stable and continuous income for yourself. Don't be in an hurry. Slow and steady win the race, we are selfless and togetherness we will reach the top.

On my Last edition on Steemit Diary I opened our eyes to what overhauling means on individual account, today I got an open eyes on a particular information, although I have read it something's but I did not apply it.

Note: whatever post you discovered that needed action, act this is a plus to you on Steemit community.

A post was posted by @barrydutton last night and I have to check and it was a shock to me to see this in my account

Are you dead or alive?

There is a particular site created by @mynameisbrian called deadfollower this site monitor your follower actions and give you the details when you request for it.

It is clearly known that there are certain reason that can make a steemian abandon his or her account. Let's quickly check two major reasons:

Higher projects: Some members join this great community and later discovered another great project to earn a living which may not give them adequate time to visit Steemit again thereby resulted to abandonment of there Steemit account and when this is discovered or abandon for a month the individual will be tag dead, meaning inactive.
Eager to make money: Many minnows/newbies are eager to make money and the orientation received from there friend was not deep. It is so unfortunate that many of us was not given right information when joining this great community.

As a newbies of one or two weeks you will be frustrated if you see now one to help you out. Kindly note Steemit community is a place where you earn slow and steady.

There are some community that can help you earn more with your fully involvement in the channel. Kindly find your way to this community.

After I make use of deadfollower website it was clear to me that I have 195dead followers and when I also compare it with the Steemit I followed myself I have 17steemians dead lolzz😁😁😁

It's true that one must both clear from their mind making money as quick as possible and maintain your account for such things as dead followers and dysfunctional witness votes. Good post @samest, I'll resteem this one for you buddy.

Folks, yes, you can make money here. BUT... it's not a magic free money ATM machine. You have to do the work. First off, the interfaces we all use to work with the block chain are typically presented as SOCIAL NETWORKS. Read that again more slowly... Not a free magic money ATM machine. SOCIAL... NETWORK....

Build relationships by joining discord and steemit.chat channels and communities. Make friends. SOCIAL. NETWORK. Build solid connections. Write quality comment and comment thoughtfully and contextually on posts. Do not ASK FOR FOLLOWS, or you will quickly find yourself ignored by anyone here to actually write, converse and engage. Seriously STOP THAT. It's gross and makes you look foolish.

Write something. Anything. Make it good, write from the heart. Write something useful. DO NOT steal or plagiarize content from elsewhere or others.

Let me repeat myself.

NOT A MAGIC FREE MONEY ATM MACHINE!
IT IS A SOCIAL. NETWORK. SOCIAL NETWORK!

Hehe. Got it? Good, now go write a great post. Leave some friendly, thoughtful comments on other people's awesome posts. Join the communities and chat channels and make some real lasting friendships.

And eventually, if you DO THE WORK, you will find some money comes your way. Don't do it for the money though. Do it for the creativity, for the relationships and for the future.

@Samest and I are thousands of miles or kilometers apart on opposite sides of the entire PLANET from each other, but we are friends, and help each other and enjoy each other, and read each others posts and vote for each other and have fun chatting when we have time and wake up at the same times on opposite sides of Earth.

That's doing it right.

A good common sense post! (especially asking for followers, how desperate is that).

I am trying to build a following based on good quality posts ( some frivolous, some philosophical, some serious - but always try to write some thing of value )

What is your opinion on links to current post?
I ask you for this for two reasons
Firstly -I am genuinley interested in your opinion on the practice of doing this, and secondly,
I couldn't think of another way of segue-ing into promoting my very good post, and linking it for you to read ! lol

Thank you. I'm glad to hear you found it useful! I think it should be a contextual link and should be on topic. I think it's a tad rude to post unrelated content and asking, or even effectively begging is tacky and impolite. It does not often lead to a quality following and usually just annoys people. For example, even wrapped in a nice approach, I'm actually not interested in the topic and it detracts from the original author's work here. I'd say follow the comment advice I originally posted and you'll get much better results.

Thanks for the mention @samest... Indeed, one require to belong to a community on getting newly to steemit, especially for people who are not fully good interactively. Inability to find your way round could bring you to a quick halt. Thanks for this post @samest.
