It's always great to drop a post on the platform daily, but it's disheartening to see the drop in number of posts on the steemit blockchain daily. This could be linked to the recent drop in price of both Steem and Steem Backed Dollar (SBD). The drive to post is dropping daily as price and reward continue to stay low.
It has been stressed over and over that we aren't here for the money, we are here for other great and numerous things the steemit blockchain offers and earning is a plus to these other benefits. But like the biblical saying; Money answers all, the focus has shifted from other benefits to just money which is a quantitative value of reward. But money is not all there is to steemit, you can get more rewards through means other than money or liquid.
I believe a strong foundation will stand the tough and stormy days. How great your foundation is, determines how you survive. A house built on rock will stand the test of time. Steemit is foundational based, the foundation you build here determines how you benefit from this platform. Rather than battling for the liquid cash out now, we can spend that same time to build and establish our foundations.
The future really hold a lot of goodies for us, but what we do today will determine our placement for tomorrow. We cannot abandon the blockchain today hoping to come back someday when everything will be up. If everyone follows the same part, who them will help build the blockchain. The more activity on the steemit blockchain, the more impact on steem and SBD price. Beyond helping to grow our deer steem, we can also benefit by using this down time to build a great foundation for tomorrow.

Maybe money, maybe not. But zi think what's actually causing the low amount of posts on the platform can be linked to low appreciation of the few quality contents.
The mass adoption of bots in upvoting and ranking rubbish contents for gains can be disheartening to encourage quality workforce.
Other platforms like Medium or Patron who are not backed by blockchain are doing better to appreciate quality productions.
Nevertheless, there are quality writers, photographers, artists and others on the platform.
Appreciation of their efforts in terms of exposure will boost their morale and the challenge to do much better.

I've noticed a drop in the number of posts too @samiwhyte. I miss them. It means less interesting stuff to read and fewer interesting people to meet. Also, there are fewer comments on my own posts which means less to engage with. It makes it more effort to keep going! 😊
