A faucet is a website dedicated to giving you free crypto in small amounts. There are hundreds of faucets for all the main cryptocurrencies, most of them littered with advertising, pop-ups and potentially malicious programs, which is how they generate income for the owners.
Most faucets give out a seriously small amount and have a minimum withdrawal limit to make sure you keep coming back to the site as many times as possible before receiving anything at all.
But steem.global is not like this at all!

Yes there is one advertising banner but this is nothing compared to the other faucets. And there is no minimum withdrawal so each day you can withdraw a total of 0.143 steem direct into your steemit account.

Does it say you have 0.143 available for withdrawal? Perhaps it has paid out your daily amount already, but to the first address you entered, which may have been the url link instead of username only? I made this mistake on my first attempt and had to wait a day to try again.
