Trending page is the only place on steemit where even people from outside this platform get access to contemporary things happening here. They develop an opinion about Steemit through that filtered access. This very post of mine is in no way going to adorn the trending page unless some big stake holders show some love by means of huge upvotes worth some 100s of dollars. I can only dream of as it is unlikely to happen! That means that the public that simply surf internet will never gonna read this and the extreme reach my post can have is to about less than 100k real humans that are active steemians. If you are able to read this post, I'm sure you are a steemian!
If you are a steemian, then you are bound to follow some written and unwritten laws altogether that govern us while we are here. Written rules are quite technical in nature and can be grasped very easily within the expiry of few weeks from your date of joining if you have the real desire to know the mechanism. But when it is about unwritten laws, one should take some time to understand them all. Most of them are ethical in nature.
As you get along, you must get acquainted with the steemit in a more professional way. Lest, you will find yourself wearing a loser tag in the end of the day. Steemit is more like a real world. When I say the real world I mean it. We can see every sort of disparities co-existing here in the same way they are in the real world. We can effortlessly spot selfish guys. Greedy. Racists. Benevolent. Funny. African. American. Asian. Human. Animal. Abuser. Thief. Spammer.Beggar...... We 100k steemians indeed really represent the 7 Billion human race that live in the planet earth.
Mannerism
I won't entertain faking orgasm. Infact, what we most of us are doing on social medias is no difference from that particular phenomenon. We pretend to be the persons that we really not! We are masquerading ourselves as if we are capable of doing something extraordinary while we cannot. Anonymity vs Real identify itself is a subject having the potential to trigger a long debate so I don't like to slip into that realm. But what I would like to convey is, regardless of our mode of identity, we are entitled to follow certain ethical values that would never do bad to us in our growth as a community! Let me a bit clear.
Off late, I was able to spot on someone begging for upvotes by means of mentioning big names in their posts. How ridiculous it gets is the thing I would like to leave for your imagination. How can one expect to be rewarded by someone whom they are not doing any favour/work for? How dare one can mention someone who is in no way his/her blood relative, neighbour or friend? This kind of begging outperforms that we see in our real life. How far you would remain nicest to the begger who is physically and mentally fit? Hope you get what I mean!
We are part of an amazing community where we can express what we think we can. It is not necessarily be through the writing. Infact, every unique skill set you possess has a niche here and it is upto you to decide how to market yourself. We have something called a reputation attached very next to our usernames. It is upto us to make it worthwhile. In many cases, I don't see that happening maybe because there are bidbots to blame!
So dear steemians, Be true to your reputation and never act badly
So what is your take on people incessantly begging for upvotes? Comment here to register your feelings.
