I know it sounds crazy but the older I get the more I try to make realistic goals. Starting small and working your way up a little at a time. The tortoise and the Hare. No sense burning yourself out spinning wheels for a goal you can't reach only to be disappointed. At 54 years of age I choose the tortoise pace and determination. I usually don't focus on material things. I have no car payments. My home is older and from circa 1930. I don't need anything in life to be happy. However this is a need and somewhat of a luxury that I've wanted for awhile since I am pumping more money in my old bike than its worth. Not to mention it's a practical use for someone like me so I look at it as just that.
I am hoping that Steemit will help me reach my short term goals while also meeting new people and creating friendships in a wonderful community! Once I reach these goals and have established myself more in the Steemit community I will set my goals higher. In the mean time I am enjoying Steemit and helping people along the way. Ok one of my two first SHTF Steemit goals is this bike! I've always wanted a "FAT BOY" Fat Bike and this one just floats my boat! The first time I ever rode one I was hooked. If you haven't ridden one give it a try. These babies make the trails smooth as butter. To me it is like the Cadillac of trail bikes. I think this would be an awesome bug-out bike in a bad situation. When I say SHTF- For me that is Stuff hitting the fan not the other expression. 
So this is one of my 2 starting goals along with a "BOB" trailer to pull behind it. Fat bikes vary in price ranges and most have to many accessories. I am interested in a bike with "Bluto front forks" hydraulic disc brakes and a few other essentials. That's it. Pricing for the lower end on this bike are around $2500.00 and can range upwards to $7000.00 easily. Uhhhm yeah a bit much so i'm keeping my goals on the low end.

Hey buddy nice post, cool stuff as well. If you're looking for an action camera GoPro's are good but I think there's some better bangs for your buck.
The iON Air Pro 3 IMHO has a nicer picture than GoPro's and is a much better bang for your buck, that particular model also has an external mic jack as well which many action cameras lack.
Then you have dirt cheap setups like I picked up from Ali Express just to test out if I even wanted an action cam. I got mine for $36, it's like a knockoff SJ4000 which is like a knockoff of a GoPro. Not a great picture or audio but dirt cheap and came with a full accessory bundle.
I ultimately bought a used GoPro Hero 3 off of eBay for just under $100 and it came with a few accessories, that's one plus of buying on eBay oftentimes you get a couple hundo worth of accessories people bought and your getting it all pretty cheap as well.

*** Forgot to add if your looking for a really good budget cam checkout the Mobius. Many people sleep on what a great camera it is, only downside is there's no external mic jack if that matters to you but you can easily solder one in.

Good question! In the short run, my goal is to be consistent in posting. We'll see how realistic that goal is, lol. Goal 2: integrate my Steemit blog, my YouTube channel, and my personal website.
Goal 3: Develop a strong foraging community here on Steemit. There are so many good foragers here on Steemit, a lot of interest, people who can take good photos, and a culture of engagement. I think Steemit could have the best foraging community on the Internet. I've been working on the @foraging-trail as one way to make that happen.
Goal 4. Develop my own course on foraging - here on Steemit. Not a book, but a course. I've got a lot of foraging content here on Steemit and my YouTube channel that, I think, is better than most that's out there.
Goal 5: Move from being a Baby Dolphin to an Orca here on Steemit. That's so I can have a lot of influence on the platform. I'll use that to help people achieve their goals. If Steem Power value increases by two more orders of magnitude, it's going to be something! It's already increased more than one order of magnitude since this past winter.
Goal 6: Develop a strong network of friends around my region, the US/Canada, and the world. So that I can travel and visit friends -- and vice versa.

Thanks, yeah I've wanted one for a long time but just couldn't justify the cost. There are always so many other things in life that go first. I think if I don't focus on the money in here and just keep community and friendship first that good things will come from it. It's so easy to see nothing but the money when you start on this platform and that's not what I want my focus to be. The bike is a material thing and material things may make us seem happy for awhile but then its on to the next material thing and the next. We never reach true happiness. The reason I want this bike is two fold. One is I already ride but my bike is just shot. The other is practical because if things do go bad then I can still have a way to get around. The older I get the more I look at the practical side of everything which is the total opposite of how I used to be. Except for the aches and pains, its great getting older and wiser.
