Actually I think that’s a really fair and transparent delegation of your power. I totally approve of that way of doing things! Hard to tell sometimes who’s real anymore and wasting your vote on steemians that aren’t in this for the community but a steady pay check flooding money out of the platform. So yeah man. Good on you!

The spammers develop fast. It's cool to watch that as well. Free market and all :) They try to write more creative comments and delegate them to relevant threads. Some are probably using smarter robots too I guess? I don't know..But it's also our job to take it seriously if we want this platform to be a place where humans interact too.

When true AI finally develops, it will come from spam bots. God help us.

I saw a posting by a guy today who gives 100% to the 1st RS, 90% to 2nd and on to 10% to 10th+
This is a way of gamifying the RS system and I like the thought, but on the other hand it´s also quite some work to do. I´m also currently rethinking how I want to handle this in the future, because I do believe, that resteeming should be much more rewarded and since there is no inherent valuation of RS, we have to incentivize it ourselves.

I don't think I want to reward it like that, like 100% to the first comment. I think I will rather incentivize people to give well thought through and valuable comments rather than being the first one out.

Wouldnt I just incentivize people to throw out some useless comment as fast as possible if I upvotes the first one 100%?

Although, you have a point. Because I usually don't go back the day before and upvote older comments in posts that I have all ready looked through. Like my idea is that later this evening, I'll go through this blogpost and upvote the comments. But if there is a great comment that comes in in three days, that comment wont probably get any upvote at all.

Thanks for your input!

No, I didn´t mean comments but resteems! Your take on comments is perfectly clear. So my comment was just about how to incentivize the resteems.

Ah! Of course :)

But I also think I make sense on my resteem-incentives..If someone just made an account and resteems absolutely everything..does he deserve 100% upvote just because he's the first to resteem my post?

Or should I reward someone that carefully picks his/hers resteems and has worked hard at it and has many followers?

I think that would make sense?

You are right. This would require you checking out the profiles of everyone who resteems you, if they fit your quality standard before rewarding them. Well, I also have no solution and I wished, that the System would reward Resteems in any way. If Resteems would be handled like on FB, where you share a post with the possibility to add an own comment to it and drive your own discussion out of this new post, there would be the possibility to reward such shares/discussions. Until there is something like that from thy system side, I guess all our attempts to reward in a fair way will be flawed in one way or the other.

Yup.Agree. For now I can handle checking out profiles who resteem me. I check out comments that look genuine (but sometimes they are just "well thought out" spam) before flagging them. It's however easy to spot the 100% guaranteed legit comments.

As long as I'm spending so much time with cryptos and steemit is profitable for meg, I will try to do everything with my soul in it. Even checking out profiles who resteem and comment.

But that may of course change in the future. I can understand that big whales with hundres of comments and resteems can't do that, it would simply take up too much time.

But until further notice, that's what I will do. And meanwhile try to think out a system for the future.

I think everyone out there should think like you. I have seen many whales simply replying or not even replying to comments. One agrees or disagrees to your thought when he comments. Be generous and reward him for his participation.
If people follow you footsteps I'm sure we won't see much bots here. Curation is the bread and butter of minnows like me.

Thanks for your thoughts. Yeah, I reward all thoughts and participation. Sure, I'm biased too, so I won't probably give a 50% upvote (upvote of the day) to someone i fully disagree with. But he'll get the average "participation upvote" . I will never downvote or not upvote someone for disagreeing with me :D

Fair enough.
Biggest task is to get real comments from all the spams like nice post, very informative, I like all your posts etc.

Sounds fair and reasonable right? :-)

I look at it in a similar way. Most important for me is rewarding genuine comments, since those people are your REAL followers/community and put in the effort.

Keep up the good work

That's very nice of you to re-organize your upvote strategy, however I follow a very simple rule you support me I support you, it's a mutual benefit concept.
Moreover I really appreciate your support while I started my journey on steemit on Aug 2017, because of your support I reached at the 50 level of reputation nevertheless what I have learned from you so far.
Thanks

Thanks a lot man! Appreciate it :) And thank you for all your comments and thoughts!

Hello Scandinavianlife,

How are you doing ?

On the subject:

I think it's a good way to filter your comments, and filter the supposed fanbase numbers. especially when you grow so much that you can't handle every single one, flagging unrelated / spammy short comments even tho, seem a bit harsh, act as a way to "clean" and un incentivize that kind of behavior.

If it was on me, people that just spam unrelated comments that shows they haven't read anything should be punished in SBD even if it's like 0,1 sbd and have a moderator team that review the flagged content and deem if the punishment is well deserved or not to apply the - 0,1 SBD punition. Or at the very least nullify / neutralize the reward.

It would only create more of a healthy fanbase, at least, people that has subscribed for nothing more than to upvote and comment for reward might finally go away as there would be little to no reward anymore doing so, and promote, at least, actually READING THE GODDAMN ARTICLE.

Best regards,
Imaginalex.

Thanks!

Haha, yeah, reading theheadline is actually my minimum requirement for giving a little bit of an upvote. I don't flag short comments like "good job", unless they are pure spam. Like I said before, I don actually often take the time and check out commenters..but I suspect I wont be able to have the time to do that in the future if I continue to grow. It's sort of boarderline now, and I'm only doing that 70-80% of the time.

So I have to accept some spam, but I won't reward short comments like good article dear sir mister.

I do however understand that for some people that aren't steady in english it can be hard to express yourself, so I'm not like "That comment didn't reach my amazing standards, so no soup for you!"

It's not always going to be fair or correct, but I will try to to stick to a system as much as I can.

I really appreciate your 0% tolerance regarding spammers, helps to cure abuse of bandwidth and wasting of other people's time. Thanks.

Thanks! You're welcome!

No need to upvote me. I read most of what you wright anyhow. LOL

Haha. I'm sorry then...

Seems to be a good way. I dont think anybody expect you to upvote all the comments on your articles with 100% but its always nice to reward people for their engagement :)

I disagree with your second opinion about more followers means they worked harder. You can get followers if you have high steem power and you can buy steem power with money, so. If you say having money means they worked harder, their parents can be rich.
I think upvoting should be depend on only one criteria "quality".
Kind regards.

Good points. But how should I reward resteemers? For me its more valuable when someone with 1500 followers resteems me than someone with 20 followers..

It's not my job to decide who deserves more or less money. I can only make decisions based upon whats good for me.

You are providing value to steemit community via your posts. I like your curation rules. If everybody thinks like you and work like you, steemit becomes more safe and secure as well as trusted platform. Upvoted & Resteemed!

Flagging cost voting power, I just mute spammers now. It's hard to find a way to fairly distribute votes.
I don't have any strategy.

I understand, and I have read it, I will do as you wish, today you have told all your followers, hopefully this is the best.

ok already I vote. do not forget to vote back

I like the straightforwardness!

Sounds like a fair way to do things, I think that you should give yourself some flexibility as well, which I'm sure you were going to anyways, but otherwise just do what seems fair to you. We all know there are only a limited number of votes for each person a day so none of us are expecting 100% on every comment or crazy stuff like that.

Hört sich gut an. Sehr guter Ansatz. Wer was tut soll belohnt werden. Alle anderen können nur einen Teil haben. Es müssen die Verhältnisse stimmen.

Let's give it a try before checking the translator;

"That sounds good" Very good..post? Something something reward. Everyone else..should something something. Something something..

Wow, I DO suck at german :D

"
Sounds good. Very good approach. Who does what should be rewarded. All others can only have one part. The conditions must be right."

Wtf..doesnt make any sense.

Fazit: Jeder der etwas zur Community beiträgt verdient einen großen Anteil. Mitglieder die nur Geld sammeln, einen kleineren Anteil.

we know you will try your best
keep it up dear @scandivianlife
thanks

                                    RESTEEM DONE!

I think your system is good, because it will reward good comments on your posts, which are also important because it’s the only way us users have to interact between each other’s in steemit.

Although I didn’t understand the resteemers votes?
