How To Install Bytecoin Wallet On External Hard Drive (fast way)

Follow procedure contains steps that i have doing to install bytecoin wallet on my mac.

Also, as you can see in step 6, i have replaced bytecoin wallet default installation path creating a symbolic link that point to directory in an ssd usb external hard disk.

Bytecoin wallet requires about 40 GB disk space.

WARNING!!! Steps below works for a fresh installation. Don’t use if you have already an address wallet with bytecoins inside.

1. Download bytecoin wallet from official site here

2. Download bytecoin blockchain (blocks.bin, blocksindex.bin) here

3. Install bytecoin wallet app, but don’t launch it for now

4. If you want use default wallet path for the blockchain (~/.bytecoin) you can jump to step 9 then go to step 5

5. Go to terminal and create a symbolic link that point to path where you would like to store blockchain and wallet files.

6. Creare a symbolic link

       cd /Volumes/SSD-DISK
       mkdir .bytecoin
       ln -s /Volumes/SSD-DISK/.bytecoin ~/.bytecoin
   

7. Open Mac activity manager

8. Now you can start bytecoin wallet app only for a few seconds. Kill app from activity manager when it appears on manager.

9. If all is ok you should have wallets files inside ./bytecoin path

10. Now rm default blockchain files and replace it with files downloaded on step 2

11. replace blocks.bin and blocksindex.bin

         cd ~/.bytecoin
         rm blocks.bin 
         rm blocksindex.bin
         mv ~/Downloads/blocks.bin .
         mv ~/Downloads/blocksindex.bin .
    

12. Ok it’s time to start bytecoin wallpaper app.

13. Now you can see block import (1000 at time) on the left bottom corner
