Water demand increases during summer due to hot weather. Again, the desire to drink water is less in winter. However, it is always better to drink water according to the needs of the body. People who work hard should drink more water.

The rules for drinking water according to weight are-

To know how much water, you need to drink every day, you need to know your weight first. How much water you should drink depends on your weight. That is, if your weight is 45 kg, then the amount of water required to be consumed will change if your weight is 90 kg. Divide your weight by 2 to find the water intake.

For example, if you weigh 170 pounds (77 kilograms), you need to drink 170/2 = 85 ounces (2.5 liters) of water per day.

What is the harm of drinking too much water?

Drink as much water as you need. But be aware of the harm of drinking excess water.

  1. Drinking too much water can cause symptoms like fatigue and headache.
  2. As the electrolytes become diluted, the amount of sodium in the body decreases. A decrease or increase in the amount of sodium in the body is very harmful. It causes problems like weakness, convulsions and fainting.
  3. Many times, the body retains excess water, which leads to weight gain.
  4. A normal kidney can excrete a maximum of one quart (equal to about 1 liter) of fluid per hour. If you drink more than that, excess water will remain in your body. The result can be hyponatremia, which is harmful to your health.
