The Room: Why Not Show Some Non-Steemit Content Some Love

in steemit •  7 years ago

Hello my friends and fellow Steemers!

Shouldn't it be a goal here for us to promote non-Steemit related content as much or more than we promote Steemit related content?

I think so.

That's why I'm asking you to show this post that I did about the movie The Room a little more love:

the-room-movie.jpg

I spent a lot of time on that post

And I just don't think it's gotten the attention it deserves.

Really, that's the case with a lot of posts around here.

It's true that there is a lot of exciting movement going on with Steemit right now, and it's easy to get lost in posting about Steemit -- I mean, I do it all the time! -- but it's also very important to support other unique content, whether it's movie or music reviews, poetry, original art and photography, development, world events, etc.

So again, go check out the post:

What original content have you made that could use some more attention?

Have you made an awesome philosophy post personal journal that you think is under-appreciated?

Go ahead and post it in the comments below and I'll check it out.

Until then!

Aww I missed that one, looks like a good post but upvotes are locked in the last 12 hours before payout :(

Oh poop. lol
Well I hope you can enjoy it if you like the movie. :)

you do make good points and i do agree and thank you for the info

You're welcome :)

You are up early! Diversification of Steemit topics is very important long term for the platform. It can't be one big Steemit infomercial.

Exactly. I've seen good progress in this personally, as my best performing post was about parenting, but it's still an issue, to be sure.

I'm always up early :D

Is this post then not Non-Steemit? :)

No. It's totally steemit :)

I'm not sure if this counts as philosophy or not but I consider it to be more than 12 cents worth of thought: https://steemit.com/writing/@elementm/my-dream-car-is-a-tricycle

Well, I gave it my 5 cents :)

Hey, if Steem moons hard enough, that might buy me my wacky tricycle :D

I figured a lot of people would benefit from my back-pain video. Almost half the people I know have back problems! However, not much action there.
I also expected a lot of discussion from the Gender Equality post.

I just wrote a proposal that I think would solve this to some extent.

@shayne I like your articles ! This one is quite fun for me because I was just saying the same thing to my partner a few days ago. I was a bit frustrated that not many people look at my stuff and I said to him "I think I should write about bitcoin or steemit itself to have some views". I think it is harder to get interest of people when writing about other subjects. I also spend a lot of time on my articles and sometimes it really doesn't pay ! Lol ! It doesn't matter too much because I like the exercise of writing anyway ( it's quite a challenge as english is not my mother tongue). But I would love to see this platform evolve in a way Steemit is not the first subject that people talk about.
Also I can get annoyed when, for example, I see articles in "photography" with 200 views and the article is just a pretty pic with a one-line comment. It make me think about why I spend 2 hours per article then ?
Cheers :)
