While checking out some website analytics for Steemit, I was very surprised to see where a lot of the social media traffic was coming from.
Between Feb-April, 500,000 people came to Steemit from social media (about 1/9th of Steemit's total traffic). It was no surprise to see Facebook at the top of the list, but I was shocked to see that Reddit accounted for nearly 22% of the traffic! The subreddit r/conspiracy by itself makes up 4.57% of the social traffic.
What's the lesson here?
Don't underestimate the power of sharing your posts on Reddit!

Seems to me there are some good lessons there... different "topics" draw well from different areas of social media. Facebook and Instagram would draw well from photographers; Reddit for conspiracy/alt thinking; Medium for politics and self-development... targeting any "recruiting messages" we may have matters!

It seems like they're all pushing to voat.co. No mention of Steemit in the last exodus post on TD.
