USER ALERT #2: Don't Quit Your Job Yet: Why You Should not Rely on Steeming as Your Main/Part-time Source of Income

Now that you are here. Your chances to make extra money has increased. Yes, that's correct. However, the percentage increase of additional income you can get from steeming could be overwhelming good or disappointing.

TRUTH #1: Did you know that if you had a post that gathered rewards worth $1000.00 +/-, some views, and some upvotes. It is up to the steemit board to decide if your post deserves the money you've earned? Yes, don't go crazy yet.

TRUTH #2: Did you know that the main method of earning for most steemit users is mining cryptocurrency? Yes, cryptocurrency mining is what the whole buzz is about. In fact, the reward pool that users get paid from is mostly generated from the cryptocurrency "steem dollars"

TRUTH #3: Did you know that achieving high Steem Reputation is cool and closely related to your Steem Power. This means that, as you climb up the reputation rank, you will have the opportunity to help other people make more money other than yourself by upvoting their posts, whereby encouraging good content on steem. Unfortunately, this power also helps you earn a lot of money on steemit for little or no effort at all, WHICH IN TURN CAN MAKE YOU A TARGET for Seemit board members who don't like people carting away money on a regular basis on steemit.

THRUTH #4: Not all those high earning posts you see on steemit are paid. So, now you can stop envying those posts that are earning what yours are not currently earning.

THE GOOD NEWS:
You can earn by leaving your earnings on Steemit or investing in steem (SBD). (Details in future posts)
You can earn by improving your content writing and posting quality and fun content (without Plagiarism).

I hope you've learned one or two things? That's enough truth to share for one day. Look out for my "User Alert" series.

Yes, that is true, I agree that this is not easy money for grab! We have to understand how it works before investing in it!

@martinst nothing goes for nothing or "for free" that is why they invented the word "lucky."

Good post but if you think the price of STEEM will be more competitive as more people join and want to power up I don't think you want to hold STEEM Dollars for very long.. my friend had 12SBD back when STEEM was .10 cents and did not convert it to STEEM and now it is still only worth $12, but if he would've converted to STEEM back then it would've been 120 STEEM worth $240 now.

@stealthtrader thank you for the eye opener. Big thanks

Anytime just wouldn't want u to miss out like my friend did 🤘

I thought about that as well. I would have thought more people using the platform would make it more valuable but it's the opposite. Hopefully it will still be profitable in the future. :\

Hi @stealthtrader! That was such a good reply, how can I resteem just your reply? So cool!

Well I guess all that hard work doesn't pay off if some nameless board can decide you don't deserve your reward for your hard work.

@tgb1972 that's exactly why I have made this post to spread the word before people become victims of theiir high expectations. Some top steaming such as @aggroed are also taking measures towards ensuring equality of voting power amongs other issues. Nevertheless nothing is for free on Steemit except the give aways..))) Please upvote and resteem. Thanks and have a splendid day!

Thanks @simeonburke , this is good info to bring newbies back to earth after they sky rocket to cloud 9 after finding steemit!

@shoreenbeckford. You are correct with the sky rocketing part of a newbie's experience on steemit. I 've been there myself, I am where I am right now because I took out time to figure some things out. Things that are right here in front of our eyes, to which we don't pay attention. Thank you for your contribution and have a splendid day

definitely @simeonburke, I also people put the cart before the horse, so to speak, and due to overwhelm jump in feet first lol. Thankfully they have level headed people like you who took the time to figure stuff out to fill in the gaps!

@shoreenbeckford I'm flattered Thanks for your contribution.

Great post now they'll probably take all your Steem Power away. lol

@iheartyou Thanks for your contribution. If they do it only proves that Steemit is not what we all think it is and it will gradually go cold. Nice alias you got..)) I like it.

Good read and thanks for the tips!

Nice article.
Are there a lot of people living only with the earnings from Steemit ?

I already left my job, so I have nothing to lose.

@dyrits Good for you & for not having nothing to loose, I hope you get a satisfying job soon! have a fulfilling day!

Thank you for the post. Who are the board members? Where is the source of this information?

@amirl The board members are steemit members(mostly Wales) that oversee the affairs of steemit and decide what's good or bad for the community amongst other things. Not all journalists/bloggers provide the sources of their information. consider this a heads-up and if you have any questions, I'll answer them. I am glad it sparks up some questions from

Well thanks for the heads up. I admit that in life I learned that usually things that looks to good to be true are false. I still think that in open source platform the mechanism of denying payment should be open to review. If there is a defined mechanism then it sounds ok to me (annoying as it is) but what bothers me is that you imply there is a hidden centralized mechanism here.

@amirl They are not hidden. Infact, steemit is the most transparent network you can ever think of. you can actually earn. but it is not immediate or continuous for everybody. Once you're a wale(you can)
I will give you one clue though. Read through the rewads section of high earning wales. If you are curious enough you will find something once you do. let me know..))

Hardly decentralised then...
