You raise some good points.
As soon as I learned of steemit I imagined some indian clickfarm where people would be upvoting each others content all day. Im not sure how you guard against this.

Also, where does the money come from? Yes I know that the content has value, works same as Facebook and youtube. But on those platforms the content only has value because its being monetized. Content means people will come watch, if they watch you can show them commercials. So far there is none of that on Steemit, except for when you search.
