Dagupan City, the“Milkfish Capital of the World,” is set to regulate the number of the fish cages in the city. With the aim of the quality over the quantity of the milkfish produced in the place, the supply is expected to go down. The number of fish cages will be cut down to half as a part of the regulation process. The action will also lessen the pollution while maintaining the good quality of the milkfish.
This is a good move by the local government, not to jeopardized the industry. The milkfish from Dagupan was known to be one of the best in the world and the best in the Philippines.
