Campaign to get SBD listed on Binance Oct 5, 2018

Please Resteem to let Steemit Inc know that Steemit Users want SBD (STEEM Dollars) listed on Binance.

It is important because there is no Major Multilingual Exchange that lists SBD

People of all languages need a place to trade their SBD earnings for STEEM and other currencies. Otherwise, the Steemit platform is useless to them if they can use the currency effectively.

@socky you nailed it, worldwide acceptance of STEEM and SBD needs to come through exchange support. I would love to see more options in trading pairs for STEEM as it is but having an external exchange for STEEM - SBD would also be amazing.

Is SBD listed anywhere? Never had an interest in taking anything out of the platform but if I could use it to increase my coin count with strategic trading I would definitely give it a go. I wonder if possibly the $1 peg for SBD has something to do with it not being submitted for listing, internal market only thus better control of the peg?

I think that it is possible that there the lack of listing on exchanges may be intentional. Given the hands-0ff approach from STINC, I doubt that theory. SBD peg has other mechanisms to peg it to the US dollar and does not require limited exchange exposure. If STINC was actually worried that there is too much debt, they wouldn't have added the SBD change to HF20 to allow payments in SBD when the debt ration is high. They could also reinstate the conversion to STEEM which is not available to the majority of users. STINC and witnesses would argue that the conversion option to everyone is available with advanced wallets, but no-one knows how to use them.

What is crazy is people complain that the price of SBD goes too high and those same people are paid in SBD. It is like crying to an employer that the value of the money that they are getting paid in is worth too much. So many people have no economic sense whatsoever.

Just curious what's the draw of getting SBD listed on Binance? I get that it would be cool and maybe bring more attention to Steemit but Binance deals with Steem so if you need to sell for cash or other cryptos is there a downside to just swapping SBD for Steem on our own market and then sending it over to Binance?

SBD is not available everywhere in exchanges. What is worse is that when it is available, then the exchange doesn't offer a multilingual option. This means for anyone else in the world that wants to earn using this platform are just out of luck. If a currency doesn't include multilingual options, then it is not for everyone of the world. This means limited growth and acceptance world wide.

That is really impactful because the value of STEEM is expected to follow an exponential increase with respect to the number of users. Eventually, we can break out of the Bitcoin dominance with number of users. But, that is not likely to happen anytime soon as long as the currency here excludes multiple languages.

SBD on Binance will be a major step in correcting the SBD language issue.

The other problem is the internal market. That market works OK until the SBD/STEEM amount is too large. Then the trading volume can't support the exchange. If someone with a large STEEM or SBD transaction comes to the market, they can wipe out all the fairly priced market trades and force the price one way or the other. We need other outlets for SBD/STEEM trading.

Very well stated socky! 👍
