Guys all currency whether a country coin or a virtual coin is only valuable because people have came to a consensus that the particular coin being used represents a value or exchange of goods. In other words it has value because me and you agree to make it so. Fiat currencies like the dollar are based on the fractional system which means that they don't need to back up the coin with any real assets like gold, they literally keep making the money out of thin air and inflation. Back in the day people used to trade with salt and gold and that was the consented currency. Today we have crypto-currencies which have value because people like you and I give it a value and accept it in exchange for goods and services, this is not true for all crypto-coins some of them have failed because no one wanted them.
