Having issues with portrait images rotating to landscape when uploaded via a browser? - Here's the fix (well workaround)

I've been struggling with images rotating after being uploaded to Steemit, this always happens with taking portrait images using my smartphone. Here's an example...

To fix, simply crop your image before posting..you obviously don't have to crop it a lot.

Cropped a tiny bit and all is well.

Enjoy!

If your using windows 10, right click the image from explorer then edit.

Rotate, using the yellowed area toolbar icon above, then File/Save.

Some images look the right way around until you edit them or upload them to Steemit, and then realise they are not. I use this technique all the time.

I tried rotating using the Windows 10 photo app but it made no difference. I shall try this in picture editor.

This always happens with portrait images from my phone. All are correctly orientated until I attach them to a post. Bloody annoying.

Is is the Microsoft Office Picture Manager that is associated with your .jpgs?

There are several editors on Windows 10. Make sure its this one.

I just used this for several pictures on the Highlands post I did earlier. It always works.

No, I’ll give it a go tomorrow to see if I have more luck.

Also works straight from the phone (cropping that is)

Not sure I've had this issue. It's a cool pic anyway.
