As much as we all like to want to act like it does not bother us spending hours in multiple sub-groups and communities on Discord, Steemchat and maybe Whatsapp with Steemit and not getting the necessary support and encouragement to stay on, but it is one fact that still trouble us all most especially if your integration into steem is not long enough. If you have little or no Vested shares in terms of Steem Power that would bring you returns provided you use it well, then the only possible thing is to mine with your Brian and Mind by blogging!
So if you are a newcomer/newbie who is already fed up and discouraged, or maybe you are on the verge of quitting the community Steemit because the promise to "Blog and earn" seems like a false promise to you. You might think you are not getting supports because you are not in any sub-groups or communities. Do not fret, there are dozens of self sustaining means to make your steem journey worth a while.
Now the first question would be, how oriented were you when you came on-board steemit? Did the person who brought you in explained in details how things really works here on the platform? Probably they did but things had gone south, but before now here is not just an average social media site. It is a place where your voice/ideas/writings is worth something provided that you catch the interest of users who had invested hugely in the platform and are willing to support you.
Tackling your disappointment starts with reducing your high hopes in certain curators who unfortunately have hundreds of other users like you to curate. The fact is when you do not get their visit, you get furious and probably envious of other users earning more than you do. Cheer up now, your days of sulking are numbered.
THE START POINT
How to begin is to smartly interact via comments without spamming with junk commenting. If you do this right it also earns you Steem/SBD as well as your articles. Then save up i.e set a time frame to accumulate this earnings. This is now left to your will to experiment self sustenance or to cash out, but once you have saved up a substantial amount; then research different services on Steemit to support and promote your blogs/articles/Vlogs with.

You have a very legitimate suggestions to newbie Steemian. It is very easy to give up and quit blogging and creating content on Steem. I stayed away from it after posting for few weeks only to come back stronger.
As I created more authentic contents and followed a theme to build my authority, I started gaining followers who would upvote and engage in conversations. This encouraged me further to create more genuine contents on the subject matter of my passion.
So, newbie, don't give up. Just be truthful and be genuine and post your original contents and also engage in genuine conversation with other content creators. You will see results one day.

Great write up, self sustainability is the way forward, one thing I found out here is that nobody is ready to do anything here for you for free, so you gota work hard and workout ur own success. Have a game plan. Starting out you should look to reinvest every steem/SBD you earn till you are successful use services as recommended above, power up sometimes then u can start reaping the fruit of your labor. If u keep paying out you would continue crawling and be that d same spot

It's good when newcomers just want to use post promotion just to increase visibility but I'll advice they don't totally rely on that. Building relationships is still the way. It's like wooing a lady, she might be difficult but if you're persistent she'll give in one day.
