I've been a cryptocurrency and bitcoin enthusiast for a while now, and whenever I get the opportunity I try and discuss blockchain with friends and family including my girlfriend. She's listened to me go on and on about these things and never displayed much interest. When I started talking about steem and showed her the website I saw for the first time her wanting to learn more and even want to try and be an active member in the community. I think the accessibility that Steem has to intrigue a general and wider audience is something special and I'm glad to be a part of this community in its earlier beginnings. I can't wait to see where this experiment will take us and what other achievements will be reached in the near future.

Agreed! Accessibility is the best part about steemit at the moment. It gets people interested, then if they earn a bit with a successful post they have incentive to learn more about cryptocurrency so that they can actually use it for real-life purposes.
