Steemd.exe using large amount of bandwidth as witness and miner?

Hello, I'm mining on my computer using Steemd.exe and noticed after an hour or so the network usage goes to around 20Mbps (2MBps or so).
Is this normal? Is there a way to limit this?
Right now it's slowing everything down to where I can't view videos at low quality.
