Why Steemit Is Better Than Reddit | My Short Analysis With Pictures | Who do you love? Steemit or Reddit? @Steemist LOVES Steemit!

So, when I heard the name of steemit for the first time, I knew and believed that it has potential, and I knew for sure that it will surpass other social networks and generate ground-breaking records. Although steemit also surpassed my own expectation, and I congratulate all steemers for contributing in this success.

Today, I thought to compare steemit community with reddit, and did came to following conclusion that there are 3 big reasons why steemit is better than reddit and all other social networks but I'll compare with reddit for today. I like to keep things short so lets do some analysis together.

1. Beautiful Layout And Easy To Navigate:

Making an attractive layout is one of the toughest things for webmasters. Either webmaster lose some potential users due to layout or gain high quality of users. There are a lot of users like me who prefer to visit only those sites which are easy to access and easy to navigate.

Lets look at layout of reddit in this screenshot:

You can say it for sure that this layout is not as attractive as steemit's layout. For me, reddit's layout is boring. I might not prefer to spend my time there. I see lack of intelligence although there are no big problems in terms of navigation menu for reddit, but still they are not highlighted enough. Categories at side-bar works best

Lets look at layout of steemit and analyze it:

To be honest, I really love such layouts. It is highly attractive, and contains responsive side-menu too. Categories and tags are easy to navigate and placed at perfect side. Furthermore, look at the beauty of colors. Completely awesome. Black with gray is more attractive than blue with gray. Additionally, you have reputation score next to the name of author which filters most of BS posted by spammers, so it is less likely to waste your time on spammy posts. You can choose posts of high reputable members and enjoy reading them. There is more to compare in terms of layout like comments arrangement and design of both sites. SteemIt beats reddit in comment thingy too.

Have a look at comment's area design and style of reddit:

It looks nearly rubbish to me that how they are designed to show up. Not even in center and bad choice of font.

Now have a look at steemit comment's area design and style:

It looks awesome. Easy to read and best to enjoy conversation with relaxation to your eyes because of steemit's fonts choice.

2. Value To Authors:

It is commonly known that reddit is just like other social networks and there is almost nothing innovative about it although it contains good features but not as good as steemit. When you spend your precious time on reddit and authoring your quality articles there, what value you get? Although I agree that it contributes to community. But what it gave to you in return? Did you get something? Oh yeah votes and likes and comments, its good but NOT THAT GOOD!

Votes on reddit but what you gained? points? huh

That is the reason why steemit is many times better than reddit. Steemit appreciate your time which you put in contributing to community and they are not selfish to just take your support, they also support you in best manners. Not only you receive votes, and comments, you make some handsome amount of money too if your contribution is good enough. This is one of innovative and greatest idea of steem. It is not only rewarding, it is a great for users like me that how much steemit appreciates our time.

Votes on steemit and that's what authors gained:

3. Curation Reward:

Here comes the great part, when it comes to reddit, most people do not care about their votes. They throw their votes senselessly and as a result, you see lot of low-quality posts trending on front page just like I visited reddit few minutes ago. When I clicked on one of their topic, it was of such low quality that I decided to click on X and close the tab within few seconds. Look at the votes on reddit's post, just for one rubbish picture.

In Steemit, you see that people are careful for their votes to spend. Most of them do not really vote for crap (except newbies and other type of wacko users). The reason behind all such care is that, they are looking for curation reward, and they do their best to judge before voting to anyone if it will really serve community in real way. That's the power of steemit's innovative curation reward. If you vote for good and other powerful members vote after you, then you get curation reward in steem power.

That's what people gain by voting on useful stuff on steemit. 1 steem power is equal to 2.15 SBD. Quoting the curation reward stats of @berniesanders

And the curation reward stats of @smooth

Your reward depends on the number of SP you already have and the quality of votes. If you vote on random posts without looking at their quality, then you might not get enough rewards but when you choose the best material to vote then you enjoy the highest rewards. That's what makes steemit unique.

Although there were many other reasons but the bottom line is, Steemit cares about us more than any other social media site. I see many new things coming up, and I am excited for all improvements they are doing. And hey, its not only me right? You guys also love steemit and that is why, you are here and completed reading my post. Thank you for spending your precious time with me. As for myself, its a no brainer to choose steemit because of many important reasons and that's why @steemist loves steemit. Those were just 3 of many reasons. But let me ask you too, who do you love? Steemit or Reddit?

Wow. The differences are astounding. I've never used reddit but your pictures and descriptions are enough for me to see that steemit is better.

Thanks naifaz. To be honest, I am not a big fan of reddit due to the reasons mentioned above. Steemit is better in all senses.

You're right steemit has much better design than reddit. but I don't understand the curation aspect of it and how they can sustain paying out for posts without incoming revenue?

Hi Porygon,

Thanks for the comment. I believe that blockchain makes plenty of bitcoins on daily basis, and steemit have gain behind this idea too. It is like win-win situation for both sides and I do not think that steemit require ads to sustain. This is blockchain-based social media and I am sure that they will live forever. I'm very happy for this great opportunity given by steemit to us.

Curation thingy is simple. if you vote for good posts, then chances are that, whales will vote too and if whales vote after you, then you get pretty awesome amount of steem powers. In reddit, you might get points but they do not mean anything in reality. These steem powers worth money. Current rate for 1 SP = 2.156 SBD . Even if you raise 4-5 SP a day, then you are making a decent amount of money.

Great analysis Steemit wins hands down! And it will only get better!!!

Thanks. Yes, it is getting better and better.
