Technical Writers Wanted

At Steemit, we’ve been making a major push toward more transparency. We want to make sure that as many people as possible can gain a deep understanding of the various projects that we are working on as well as those being built by other Steem developers. But in order to do that, we need people who can speak both “Steem” and fluent English. Given the response to our last competition, we thought, “Why not do another one?” The prize for this competition could be a position working with us at Steemit!

Competition!

Using the comment section below please share a link to an article posted to Steem that you believe does an amazing job of eloquently explaining a highly technical aspect of the protocol. This can be a post written at any time (past, present, or future), by you or someone else. We’d love to see new articles written about something going on in github right now. Please make sure that all submissions have excellent grammar, spelling, and formatting in addition to compelling copy.

Please share links to the articles themselves (not just a username) so that we can quickly assess technical literacy and writing abilities.

We will continue to monitor the comment section over time, so keep leaving comments as you write or discover great new pieces of content and don't forget to upvote other high quality submissions. We’ll also give extra consideration to those comments that receive the most upvotes. Unfortunately, we can't promise we'll pick someone to work at Steemit, but we do promise to look at as many of the entries as possible for someone who might be able to meet our high standards for employment.

Here's my article @steemitblog about how bitcoin works. Lesson 101 for any crypto fans:
https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@kabir88/reading-white-papers-bitcoin-part-1

How flagging effects rewards

https://steemit.com/fulltimegeek/@kabir88/if-you-want-to-understand-how-the-flag-wars-effect-your-rewards-look-at-these-diagrams-you-may-be-surprised-at-their-effect

You will have to excuse all the low ratings, I was stuck in a flagwar when I wrote those. A shame really, I thought they were good articles explaining complex topics simply!

@kabir88

And a new one!

https://steemit.com/steem/@kabir88/why-doesnt-your-reputation-get-out-of-the-negative-zone-remotehorst23-asks-here-s-the-answer

As a Language manager for Utopian and Tasteem supporter, I strongly recommend @kabir88 as a hardworking and dedicated person. I have no doubt that kabir88 will be a great asset to your project. He has a great personality and is an honest person.

I've learned a lot from his "How flagging effects rewards" article that leads me to become his follower. Albert Einstein once said, "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough". Kabir88 could interpret the whole complex technical and financial ideas behind the reward system on Steemit into a friendlier version for the vast majority to understand. Kabir88 is well known for his rightness and willing to stand for the right. He is a good citizen of Steemit.

Thanks @carlpei, whether I get to write for @steemitblog or not, you words of encouragement will help me to continue to produce informative and fun content here for the steem community!

@kabir88

@steemitblog I'm a big fan of @kabir88! He is a good egg.

@kabir88 I wish you luck with this endeavor, buddy!

Thank you @allseeingewe!

Damn, you beat me to it, was gonna drop this exact link, the one donkeypong wrote about smts...frankly I hardly kniw anyone who writes as eloquent as Tom

Thank you. Really.

Here is why Steem open social platform is the worst nightmare of established closed social systems such as #facebook, #youtube, #twitter:

https://steemit.com/waivio/@grampo/open-social-platform

and an older post:

Why distributed blockchains are more important than the Internet

https://steemit.com/distributed/@grampo/distributed-blockchains-more-important-than-the-internet

also Waivio Whitepaper (introduction of objects on Steem blockchain):

And I am super excited to introduce concepts of Attention and Reference Trading on the upcoming SteemFest!

Lol - you know as well as I do that they are NOT interested in critical posts!

Nice dig though.

Good article that by KW.

Sensible entities are always open to criticism.

Shows great writing skills and knowledge of the protocol. Should be considered as contest entry.

Yes true...!

Posted using Partiko Android

How is this relevant here? Ned has already addressed it in comments.

does an amazing job of eloquently explaining a highly technical aspect of the protocol.

This is just a contest entry.

You're recommending @kevinwong for the position?

Gotcha, read your other comment.

hi @acidyo, I looked at the comments (there's a lot of them on that post) and even searched but couldn't locate @ned's response. Would you be so kind and point me to it ? Thanks

It's not in this post, go to his profile and check through his comments directly instead. I'm on the phone atm so it would take me a while to find the corrt one.

thanks

Kevin is great. A long-time friend and that article was definitely something we took a look at. We appreciate the entry, but I think Kevin has his hands full.

Yes, I know you are long-time friends. I have watched this SF presentation by both of your on stage a few times when I first joined Steem last year. You guys make a good team. Maybe a repeat at SF3?

Haha, got something else in the works for SF3 ;) Looking forward to seeing him though!

Very interesting question from the lady at around min 16' - the camera doesn't manage to show her and she's not introducing herself. Anyone happens to know who's the lady asking about the risk of curie becoming a gatekeeper to content ?

Actually @kevinwong had unintentionally answered her question during his speech and @andrarchy answers very well too: anyone can create another "guild" on the model of @curie

I have been feeling Kevin as Satoshi Nakomoto because I have never seen his photo in his blog . Thanks for sharing. I got to see him finally!!

This is my huge list of minnow tips and I send it to new people all the time. I get a lot of thanks for helping people and still get comments on this post today even though it is a year old.

https://steemit.com/money/@fitinfun/make-money-blogging-on-steemit-top-tips-and-checklist-for-better-results

I normally post "Monday Minnow Tips" one one topic or another and get excellent response to them. I have not done this since the fork took the wind out of my sails, but I soon will start up again.

I am a writer and have books published on Amazon about natural health and weight loss. My past life was as an accountant and I have written and untold number manuals and tutorials on complicated subjects. I was also a course writer for a few universities. My courses were in the areas of accounting, economics, and risk management.

Currently, I can speak “Steem” at an advanced (not expert) level and I am fluent in English. I would welcome the chance at the opportunity, and I think it is a great idea.

Good luck @fitinfun I know you like writing.

Yes!! Sharon is dedicated to explaining this platform to users!

Yes!! Sharon!!! Hope you get it - seems to me there would be room for more than one person...

I think you should just look to who is already a technical writer for STEEM.

@taskmaster4450

Good luck @improv this is right up your alley.

You certainly understand all the concepts!! Good luck!

Good luck!! I know you would do a great job!

Your writings are clear and easy to understand which is neccessary when writing about complicated matters. My vote is for you @improv and I hope you get the job! Good luck!

Thanks for your vote of confidence!

@taskmaster4450 would be an excellent choice. I read his posts every day. He is a positive voice in these bearish times and in each post analyzes something new regarding the blockchain.

Before, i wrote a post about future of Steem Blockchain. Maybe, in the post have not include more technical detail, but sometimes i think myself how to steem ecosystem to be useful in our daily life.

i have a dream or a idea about a marketplace on steem blockchain network without use fiat currency. And all steemians would trade each other.

https://steemit.com/steemschools/@cryptoewp/create-a-marketplace-on-steem-blockchain-steemit-incubator-ideas

Hey @lextenebris!!

Is this call out something within your gamification interests alley?

erm... I mean... regardless your unbind & emancipated freebird nature?

Not – really?

I'm fairly sure that I might very well be the last person that Steemit Inc. wants to be paying to explain their system. That's not to say couldn't, but is to say that from their perspective I probably shouldn't.

Yeah mate. That's exactly what I thought too.

But I couldn't pass up the opportunity to offer them the best and most qualified candidate for this job. :)

@paulag? @abh12345? Not sure if you would be interested in this.

@lynncoyle1 im not sure my lazy grammer and writing style are what steemit inc need or want. Although it is awesome that you considered me. Its been two weeks since this post and no winner announced yet. I wonder if i have a chance 😁

My suggestion is about @abh12345 always a great mind and helping hand to work on. The reference link is shared below

So the main price is to work for you? hmm sureeeee... Took you some time to propose something like that. It is very well needed.

Hello Steemit !

Here is an exemple of article I can write :

Let me know if you want me to write something more Steem specific !

To be sure it's you [Steemit inc] that contact me, please use Steem Messenger

Or send me a message with a valid signature at [email protected] !

Tagging the brilliant writers i know

@viking-ventures
@kaerpediem
@mariannewest

Thank you for your recommendation.
However, I'm not a technophile... maybe someone like @kaliju, @thdarkhorse, @enforcer48 or @iamstan - maybe @coinsandchains or @dollarsandsense might be able/interested. (Or, maybe one of them knows someone who should apply...)

Hmmm, I do some technical writing but have never published any of it to steem. Most of it is in the healthcare world, process and interface documentation. I guess I should find one of the open source projects and see what I can come up with. I've been poking around a bit but have not dug in too deep yet.

thank you @thekitchenfairy for your confidence in me
I have never really tackled anything tech
Not in the way they are expecting
But thank you
I am grinning like a monkey now <3

Hai @steemitblog

I have read the words @donkeypong last year. in my opinion he is very suitable for writing in steemit blog. he wrote well, this is one of his writings.

https://steemit.com/smt/@donkeypong/the-day-the-paywalls-died-how-steem-s-smart-media-token-saved-my-family-s-newspaper

Thank yo @steemitblog

Basically all @taskmaster4450's posts dammit!

Here's some tech writing I did for a not-so-recent open-source contribution. It's not about the SMT protocol, but I can try writing one once I get a more in-depth knowledge of how the protocol works.

https://steemit.com/ulog/@eastmael/ulog-9-reaping-the-benefits-of-re-usable-components

Highly minimal :)

Thanks for the thought but perhaps the technical requirements are outside of my scope :)

man... I was so excited for the chance to write for steemit but should have figured it would be in a technical aspect and I'm just not there yet!

@narashi your domain is calling!

Is providing links or user name??. I read to share the author links...but seeing the comment with author name i am bit confused....i am resteeming it. For sure will share few links of good authors.

Posted using Partiko Android

I'm not a good writer, so I cannot put any post in this section but i will upvote others high quality posts.

Posted using Partiko Android

Iam a better writer, but can't guarantee about the outcome..

@calprut you need to join this.

@chuuukie join along with your papa

I appreciate the nod, but I’d fall short on the technical aspect of translating GitHubese!

😂

Want to Write for Steemit Inc.?

Yes, I would love to.

Here are some posts I made about a week ago explaining the protocol of some dApps:

https://steemit.com/utopian-io/@jaff8/1ramp-vs-partiko-clash-of-steem-dapps

https://steemit.com/utopian-io/@jaff8/my-experience-using-byteball-chatbots (not exclusively steem related)

Have a great day ahead!

I have written about blockchain and steem blockchain. Because i love to learn about the new technology.
Sometime i love to share my travel experience too.

@zephalexia is an amazing writer you might wanna check her blogs I can’t choose really but I think this one is a good one

https://steemit.com/teardrops/@zephalexia/what-will-zephalexia-do-if-she-ll-be-a-whale-6aa19ac2109bd

I have seen @paulag was doing great thing about technical writing and video please check it on this link : https://steemit.com/utopian-io/@paulag/what-is-steem-and-steem-power-video-tutorials-1540330487769

Not only that one, but you also can find some other post for her steem tutorial on he account

Thank you so much for the nomination, but i have a feeling my technical writing skills are not up to par on this one. Although if steemit inc wanted me to write for them i would seriously consider it 😁

I think you have enough experience to write it properly, look at this @paulag
