Is This The First STEEMIT Survey?

I Do Wonder If This Is The First STEEMIT Survey?

Anyone who is, or has been, in business, knows only too well that there’s a well known saying; “What you measure, gets done.

I have another saying; “What gets measured, gets done better.”

As Steemit approaches its first 100,000 Steemers (as far as I can ascertain), I thought it a good time to carry out a survey amongst our community. And this is possibly the first such survey to be carried out. Maybe one of the whales can correct me on this one.

And why me? Why should @steemitwithstu develop and manage this survey. Well, firstly I thought of the idea (not that that really matters) and secondly I am an actuary, mathematician and problem solver; I understand trends, numbers and the like. So I guess, I am as good as anyone to do this.

And why now? Well, as I said earlier, reaching 100,000 Steemers is a great milestone and there is a large enough base that if just 1% of Steemers fill out the survey, we will get 1000 responses, a good sized sample. Although, I would hope to get a better than 1% response rate, if each of us really wants to make a difference.

Here are some goals for this Steemit Survey:

  1. Take a broad snapshot of the Steemit community at a point in time. If done quarterly, this will show how Steemit is evolving and developing over time.
  2. Uncover the answers more easily in an anonymous survey environment, enabling the powers that be to better understand what motivates Steemers and what is important to them. In this way they can gather meaningful opinions, comments and feedback.
  3. A non-intimidating survey such as this one will evoke discussion and give the Steemit community an opportunity to give feedback in a completely anonymous way.
  4. It will provide information to the Whales (Steemit developers) as to what improvements, additions or changes Steemers would like to see next. It is up to them to decide whether to listen to us or not, of course. Any changes they choose to implement will be based on unbiased and frank feedback.
  5. Measure, over time, the Success of Steemers, not just in money terms, but in other ways, which the survey will make clear.
  6. Compare results. Survey results will provide a snapshot of the attitudes and behaviours – including thoughts, opinions, and comments – of Steemers. This valuable feedback can be the baseline for the Steemit developers to measure and establish a benchmark from which to compare results over time.

This is not an offensive survey like this one:

CLICK HERE to complete the survey. The survey is completely anonymous so please be as honest and frank as you can. It should only take you about 5 minutes to complete.

If this survey proves popular – and achieves its goals – then I would like to do it quarterly.

Then, if you have a suggestion for further areas that might be surveyed in future, please leave a comment. And if you are a whale, and indicate as such in the comment, I will give your suggestions additional prominence. Some might call that “sucking up, or kissing ass”, but to me it is just good business sense. :-)

Thanks for the feedback. I'm happy to remove the Prize component if that is what is bugging you? And I don't understand the comment "images were hidden doe to low ratings". can you explain? And are we not supposed to promote in #general. I can see what some people are saying about the dictatorial nature of Steemit. I am just trying to be helpful but happy to learn where I am overstepping the line. :-)

I have removed any reference to a prize, or upvoting and commenting. Is there anything more you would like me to do to make this post passable. And please let me know who you are, so I can make sure I stick to the rules in future. Thanks.
